Probably... I think it's the best performance I've played of the song of 'Japan'.
I felt it, like Mick was coming down to me while I was playing it.

Wow, this is so great, I love Japan, big fan since I was a teenager, I met Mick briefly back in the late 80’s in Portobello. He was sweet and quite shy and he would have absolutely loved this.

あ、全部親指だとオルタネイト・ピッキングができないので（親指だけだと全部ダウン・ピッキングとなり無理なので）親指と人差し指のツーフィンガーなんですよ。目立たないけどこっそり人差し指がせわしくうごめいているのです。^^ （普通のツーフィンガーは人差し指と中指）

I am not very good at the very common two-finger technique with index and middle finger, so I ended up playing with thumb and index finger like this.
People still sometimes mistake me for playing with a plectrum. haha.
So I've decided that I can't reproduce the feel of Mick's sound with my right hand. Instead, I pay attention to the length of the notes, or rests, and the nuances of the left hand.
Your skill at playing these basses in such a short space of years is amazing!

私も基本ベーシストでミックカーンは敬愛してるんですがコピーをした事はありません。デュランのコピーバンドでベースを弾いた事はあります。
ミックのコピーは素晴らしいですね。彼は指で弾いてましたがスプーンのヘラのように硬くなっていた画像を見た記憶があります。
duran duranのコピーバンドって凄いですね！私は今RIOを練習中です^^ （←かなり昔に上げてたけど納得いってなかったので）
ヘラのようにって凄すぎますね！ あ、私の弾き方はピック使ってるとよく勘違いされるのですがもちろんMickのカバーをするときは指弾きですよ。人差し指と中指でなくって親指と人差し指のツーフィンガーです。
Japanの楽譜持ってるよ。必要なら画像送りますが。(笑)
デュランのカバーバンドは遠い昔の高校時代ですが奇跡的に音源が残ってますのでTH-cam にアップしてます。

Maybe in 2024 a little context is needed about the song title:
Polaroid was a camera that produced instant pictures. Remember, there were no iphones, no digital cameras. You had to use a chemical film camera. You snapped your shots and rewound the film into a closed cassette. Then you brought that exposed film cassette to a developer shop where it would undergo chemical processing in complete darkness ( darkroom/ camera obscura) Once the film was developed you could either have slides or prints. With Polaroids it was different.
No external chemical developing needed, it was already an imtegrated part of the film cassette. After you had taken your snapshot you pulled out the exposed paper, waited till the chemicals had done their work and presto, you had a ready picture ( of your hot girl ofcourse!😅)
Gentlemen were supposed to be discrete so they would not have the developers oogle the naked pictures of their girls! Hence polaroid: no middlemen!

え？極力アレンジせずレコードどおり忠実に弾こうとしてこれなんですけど（汗）
そもそもこの曲はメインリフ以外はっきり聞こえませんよね？
特にBメロのところをアレンジだって言われています？
Bメロは特にベース音が埋もれてて。ほんとよくわかんないんです。
これベース音かな？って思ったらシンセ音だったり。
それでいろんな人のこの曲をカバーしているTH-camを見まくって（汗）
でもなんか取ってる音が人それぞれ違うなぁ・・結局どれが正解だろ？みたいな（汗）
それで自分なりにこれがいちばんまともじゃなかろうかってことで＆ミックだったらたぶん理論どおりにせずこう弾くんじゃ？って思ってこういう音を選択した次第です。
オリジナルの正解の音がわかったらぜひ教えてほしいです。
※Bメロは前面に聞こえているシンセ音と一見ユニゾンに聞こえるかもですがユニゾンでないのは確かと考えています。ですがそれにしてもこの音ではないとお考えですか？
※ブリッジもちょっと音が聞き取りにくいんですがおそらくこれでいいんでは？と考えましたがレコードと違うように聞こえます？
