Appreciate you blessing us with this interview Og. Salute to Big Pokey The Great. That was a great question asking about his international status. Good job bro...
Big salute to Pokey. Still got them tapes from over 22years ago. Much love to Fat Joe 🙏🏼 It's that Big Podena I eat shrimps in Kima before I rock an arena...Man..✌
Rest In Power to the God Big Pokey! When I used to DJ at Southern University in Baton Rouge we the students would always have arguments on who was the freestyle king Big Pokey, Fat Pat or Lil Keke and I aint even gone to lie more people would always say Big Pokey. From his first album up to now I always had Pokeys music in the mix. Ball N Parlay was a song that I listened to all the time to get me moving regardless what the weather be. Whether Sunny or Gray Man! We have to look at Big Pokey as a MC who was dope on that MIC. He gave us great songs and great underground freestyles. Its MCs like Pokey that gave us Brothers from the South that type of vibe that New York had cause me Personally my fam being from New Orleans. New Orleans never really had the Mix Tapes like New York (they had bounce tapes) but Texas gave the South the mixing and freestyles that was kind of similar to what DJ's were doing in New York and Big Pokey was a part of that. To me personally Big Pokey part of that Real Down South Hip Hop. Again Rest In Peace to the God Big Pokey who after going to Southern moved to my personal favorite in the SUC especially freestyle wise. He was a great High School and college football player as well.Rest In Power to the God Big Pokey! Man this dude is grounded I’ve seen him on several occasions thru the years and I say what’s up Big Pokey he says what’s up and keep it pushing don’t need no team hardest pit in the litter
A good friend of mine was coaching at Blinn when he was there, lived in the dorms with them. He told me flat out, the personal tapes and freestyles that took place over PlayStation games were fucking legendary. Poke has so classic flows man, from Headed to the League to his freestyle with Keke over If I Could Change, classics. I'd even argue the way he went in on June 27th makes that entire freestyle. "Boys gone hate, when I move like weight, had a pickup truck with 6 bricks in the tailgate." Mannn hol up- Poke if you see this Brian Graham from them Blinn days says what up!
The big homie he’s talking about is Mac One aka Mac Uno. That’s Key-C from Screwed Up Click big brother who’s son now plays for the LA Rams #41 Marquis Christian.
I seen big pokey on multiple occasions. First time I seen him it was Big pokey x Big Moe in a big white excursion (They had drank on deck lol )I was staying in SWAT it was studio right there by the apartments, they signed ah few kids shirts told us to stay in school spoke for ah minute and they went to the studio. I was going to Betty best elementary 2002
I like seeing the love after the show cut off. The interview was great. Seeing artists I came up on that strike in 2 different forms come together like that is amazing to see! 💪🏼
