My father, Erwin Knauper, was in the 305th Combat Engineers, 80th Division, General Patton's Third Army. His unit was called to help out with the prisoners at Ebensee when the camp was liberated. His unit provided clean water to the camp. The only way I know this is because we went through a bunch of old photos he had brought home from WW2, and there were several photos of him and his fellow unit members at the Ebensee camp. He never spoke about it. After doing research after his death, I can see why. I want to thank you so much for this video. It helps me to understand more about his journey in Europe during the war.

My dad visited the site the day after it was liberated. He described the horrible things that he saw.
