This is what a cover should be. I never understand people who watch song covers and get mad when they aren't exactly like the original. Just freakin watch the original! A cover like this doesn't take anything away from the original song. If you don't like the genre then fine.. But it doesn't mean it's bad. Some people have very little understanding of artistic expression. But hey I was the same way when I was 12. Maybe they'll grow up and broaden their horizons someday.
This cover was adorable. Healthy people don't compare or expect perfection and genius. These humans are creating beauty in their own unique way. Yes, it breaks my heart how mean and cruel people can be with their criticisms rather than being able to respect and appreciate all artists and self expression in general. Sickening the meanness in this world. And in reality, most people who bash others express less talent than those whom they are attacking. Sadly we live in a world full of mentally ill haters. Bummer.

The original was filled with a energetic rock and this just saps out all of the strength and makes it sound like a generic hipster acoustic song. The highlight of the original song to me and probably many others was the powerful vocals and these two people can't hold a candle to it. The lyrics, rhythm, and melody were there but the spirit of the original song itself wasn't. A better cover in my opinion would be PostmodernJukebox's. Their singer was still able to deliver on the vocals with a soulful sound to her and gave the song a more classy feel. It was a different sound but I still felt what the original song tried to make me feel when I listened to it. Again, I agree that people shouldn't hate on this too much, but in my opinion it's not that great of a cover.
Funny how opinions work. Nobody is ever "right"...Just listened to the cover from "PostmodernJukebox" and found it unenjoyable. Actually, this is EXACTLY how it was done as an acoustic version by the original singer.. they didn't have any artistic expression..
