Having grown up in Federal Way, this was a life changing event for all the kids at the time. We just could not believe this had happened. Listening to you describe what happened to her was difficult but most of us know already. Thank you for speaking about the case. This still affects most of us who grew up here on some level and it was terrible they could not give the family justice for 30 years. But they got him. Finally. I am so happy they kept the tribute to her after they rebuilt the original school.
This is so tragic. I had not heard of this case before. Glad to hear they finally arrested someone for it. I love the sculpture tribute to Sarah. When I first saw the thumbnail, I thought this might be about someone from the high school I went to (Interlake in Bellevue). I was on the drill team there, and our uniforms looked really similar!
So sad this sweet young girl had her life cruelly taken from her, she was just enjoying her life and probably had been making plans once she would graduate. The tribute memorial that the school put up showed that she was a sweet girl. Its sad she wasn't safe at school unfortunately this happened prior to cameras being used .I myself survived a attempted abduction by 4 men in a car just narrowly. Its why I now always check my surroundings. Thanks Harmin you always tell your stories with heartfelt dignity for the victims
No unfortunately I was not able to get a license plate . I did give description of 3 of the men that tried to drag me into the car and the make model. I was out writing a phone down on the front door of a vacant home 4 sale and they cornered me between some bushes and the home . Luckily my husband who had parked at the rear alley the house pulled out around the corner and they got away. I always dread that I wasn’t able to do more to catch them and worried that they would try it again to someone else 😢
Great report as usual. My daughter just became a cheerleader. I’m so worried about her all of the time. I teach her to be cautious and don’t even go to the bathroom without a couple other girls. She thinks I’m over protective. I will pray for this girls soul and the memorial is so touching. I’m sure it comforts her family.

In 9 days she would have been celebrating her 47th birthday.🙏💚 Yet, bcuz of one sick monster, she was robbed of everything from age 16 & on. He stole her graduation, prom, college, career, marriage, motherhood , becoming a grandmother, & more. He stole so much from her. I hope he rots in prison? When you said that her clothes were folded & placed neatly, it sounded like he made her remove them & that's what he had done in another assault. This story is very sad but I'm glad it was solved.

I've had family in FW since the 60's and lived there in the late 70's, myself. The entire town seems like a total cesspit to me now. Even Twin Lakes, where my Dad lived. While visiting in the 90's, I stopped at a drug store at Pacific and 320th and felt so unsafe from people in the store, I left. It weirded me out. FW was like our wooded playplace far from our Tacoma nabe when we we're kids in the 60's. It really went south.

Went to school with her and knew her a little. The school has been remodeled and looked different when she was killed, but Federal Way Memorial Stadium is basically the same. I went to her memorial and they read from her diary (I recall she was especially inspired by Dead Poet's Society) and they played Spanish guitar music which she was fond of. She was a nice person and very friendly. The last time I had spoken with her was in Chemistry class (that teacher would be attacked by a student a few years later, making the news) when she asked me if it was ok if she could sharpen her pencil, as I sat next to it.
I'm so glad Sarah's case is solved, but nothing can bring back Sarah. and Sarah has so much to live for her life her future,.and memories. 🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍
