    Great video, great tips! Thank you, Bob! So happy for you and Liz that you were able to meet little Miss Riley. 💗 I love this style of polishers way better. I keep forgetting about the nail files.

      OMG! She's soooooo cute! I'll never get the grin off my face! Being a Grandfather was cool enough, but now being a GREAT Grandfather... Oh boy!

    What is the buffing compound you use? Where do u get it from? I am thinking not all compounds are created equal.

      Same question; too many types of polishing compound to choose from.

      This is the compound I use with the hard felt points.

      This is the yellow compound I use at the big wheel.

    Bob.....great vid as usual. Poor Kentucky......I wonder how many folks lost there machines. Hope you're not close to the disaster area......

      OMG - It must be horrible there, I too feel so bad for them. I'm in New Jersey, itself its own disaster area, but for other reasons... We still have people who haven't recovered from Hurricane Sandy back in 2012...

    I SO which I'd thought to use my Dremel to clean up my Featherweight! Q-tips and cleaning fluid took so long!

    • @BobFowlerWorkshop
      @BobFowlerWorkshop  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I used to do that... Not much fun that way.

    Those wire brushes work great, but a total pain when bristols come out and embed everywhere.

      Truth, which is why we ALWAYS wear eye protection and an apron!

    Nice job! What is the large buffing wheel made of. I am not familiar at all with buffing wheels.

    • @BobFowlerWorkshop
      @BobFowlerWorkshop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      my larger wheel (5 inch, spiral sewn) is made of chamois. I but them from Ferree's Tools here:
      www.ferreestoolsinc.com/collections/buffing-polishing/products/br5-4-and-5-chamois-buffs
      They are a bit spendy at $23 each, but they work very well indeed.

    Hi Bob,!
    I don't have a spare needle bar or presser bar to attach the parts to while buffing. Is there any reason as to why I can't use the bars that are part of the machine I'm cleaning to buff the needle bar linkage clamp and sliding block?
    Thank you!

    • @BobFowlerWorkshop
      @BobFowlerWorkshop  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As long as you are very careful, and I mean VERY careful, you should be fine. I use a spare so I don't have to worry about bending anything.

      @@BobFowlerWorkshop Thanks for that! I'm using a Dremmel too, so I won't be applying a great deal of pressure.
