One of the most poised coaches in the country. Fantastic interview. Can't wait to see what he has in store for this year.

They're still illegal. It's not about the money amount. A coach can't give money to a recruit or players mom. A coach's wife can't give money to players. That's illegal even in today's world of NIL.

I agree. The previous staff is responsible. Don’t punish the players and fans.

At least when USC paid players they lost 2 games in 3 seasons and won two national championships

The Vols had the thinnest roster in the country in 2021. I am proud of what we achieved in year 1 under coach Heupel. GB🍊!

Wrong on paying penalties. A guy might be able to afford to buy a car now. but if he stole one in 2019, he is accountable for the theft. It doesn't matter what the rule is now. They deserve whatever punishment they get.

The new rules should have no impact on the illegality and flaunting of the rules in place. The NCAA has always punished the players that had nothing to do with the violations. This was always wrong and still is but was the standard. So now, since rules have changed the act of the Tennessee staff and measures other teams have always had to deal with in that structure should not apply to Tennessee? This smells bad, and I don't think it would be fair to punish players and coaches who took no part in illegal activities, however, it never did! Are you for going back and revisiting old sanctions and reinstating wins, or trying to correct other wrongs done to programs that suffered harm from punishments to people that happened after the offenders were gone? His wife was handing out bags of $$. Dont know the answer but Phillip bears some responsibility. And I'm not saying the punishment isn't ok as is, however because its small change today doesn't make it less a violation when it happened. The two are not related. Hope the Vols have finally got it right as it appears they have because they are a traditional powerhouse and have an incredible stadium and one of the nation's best fan bases.

Teams out west don’t generate the same interest as the teams in the south. So when a team west of the Mississippi violates rules, they get slammed by the NZZA. It’s all about the money.

😂😂Purdue was down to their 5th and 6th string wide out how do you even allow that to be a game especially cause they have no run game. Brohm s game planning and coaching was simply just better he did a lot more with a lot less than heipel. Yeah their could’ve been faked injuries and that could’ve been a touchdown but there is litterally zero excuse on why tennesee was up 21-7 with all the momentum and allowed a comeback. You can’t blame the refs if you can’t put the game away up 21-7
