I’ve never give much thought about Elvis throughout my 44 years of being alive. I watched the movie over the weekend and it touched something deep inside me. I’ve watched this performance several times since and I just completely broke down in tears while watching it again. I cannot explain what just happened but his voice is truly powerful. All I can say is that I love and miss Elvis now. Such a very sad and tragic end to a beautiful human.
I know exactly what you mean. I always knew who he was and never really looked into him and his story but I finally watched the movie and it left me so sad that he went out that way. :(
I think it's because you know now how he was used, and taken advantage of, when all he wanted to do was making people happy, he cared more for others than he did himself. You can tell he is singing this song to Priscilla, even through everything, he loved her. He lived for everyone else except himself, his fans, his manager, his family, his love, and that cost him his life and his happiness. That is what makes it so tragic and why he will always be the King.
He was dying before our eyes. But that legendary voice endured to the last note! Powerful. He knew his body was failing, handlers were killing him w those awful prescriptions. This was his goodbye. The angels above have an amazing lead singer. RIP Elvis
I mean this respectfully but you can just tell how tired he is the stuttering the bit of confusion and stumbling, the only thing untouched is his voice he knew it was his time so he gave it his all RIP Mr. Elvis Presley you truly were the king
His manager robbed the world of seeing this genius at work in person. My mum was a huge fan (still is) and always wanted him to come to Australia. Taking her to see the Elvis movie today!

Thank you for sharing this. It just goes to show that real music has an effect on every human soul, no matter their age or experience. I was 3 years old when Elvis died, and even then I knew how important he was. He was the King, always and forever. 💙
Agreed. I’m 20, but I always grew up with Elvis’s music, my dad was always infatuated by him and what he stood for. I took him to see the film today as a late Father’s Day present and we both were sobbing our eyes out. I’m so glad this generation gets to experience his music, as well as the soundtrack which adds such a good modern twist. He really was such an icon, more than I think we can ever fathom in our generation. Austin Butler did an incredible job.
This makes me so happy. I wouldn’t say great person. He slept with many 14 year old girls when he was 22. He would give them sleeping pills and wait until they were asleep and then…you know. His wife was 14 when they started dating he was almost 23. He definitely had a shady past with underage girls.
I remember when this aired when I was a little boy and my mom exclaimed in horror, "He looks terrible". She was worried. The next memory is when he died. I remember mom listening to the radio in the kitchen and upon hearing the news, fell onto the kitchen floor sobbing uncontrollably. I have probably 90% of Elvis' songs memorized. That's how much mom played them back in the day.

My grandfather had just immigrated to Raleigh, NC from Greece in 1955 and was working in his older brother’s diner who immigrated 7 years prior. My grandfather was cleaning up late, and Elvis had been in town for a couple weeks with the Hank Snow show. My grandfather was sitting in one of the booths struggling with his homework when this boisterous young Elvis with about 5-6 other men came in at around 12am and sat at a booth in front of him. Elvis turns around and spots my grandfather looking befuddled over his homework. He goes over to him and says “hey son, what are you working on?” To which my grandfather replied “my English is bad, I don’t know this” and it was the English alphabet. Elvis sat with my grandfather for a good while and helped him sound out and write out the alphabet. Elvis had such a soft spot for immigrants and minorities, that love he had for other people was so great. To this day my grandfather cries every time he tells this story and proudly says “Elvis helped me learn the letter ‘H’ “ Honest to God true story, and we both cried watching his biopic because that raw goodness was used against him. I just finished the movie. The one close up shot of Butler's Elvis, you can see just the despair in his eyes, the soul of a broken man.
His voice never failed him, but his poor body was just tired...
I mean...people think he sang for a long time but he really was only active from 1958-1977....many of the other singers he opened doors for sang much longer...
His body was not tired. It was his decision to destroy his young, beautiful, healthy body at 42!

Incredibly moving….. it felt like he was singing for himself…. Just so intimate…. The power and softness overwhelmed me. Such a loss…. He was only 42 and his voice was getting better and better. I miss what we didn’t get 💔
❤❤❤
It was lip synced
@@pilotguy19781 was not, I heard him do the song in 1976 and he messed up a little and it was still breathtaking…… why would you say that? Show proof.
@I am me • 25y ago I think that guy just didn’t know and based his opinion on the last few seconds when Elvis stopped singing and backup singers were still singing. It was Elvis as live as could be in one of the best vocal performances ever! Man I loved his older voice!!

The best rendition I have ever heard of Unchained Melody. Elvis was the best entertainer of all time. Such showmanship. He gave it his all for his fans. Rest in peace Elvis. You will never be forgotten and always be loved and missed by millions of us from all over the world.
At 2:33 mark when Elvis smiled and looked to his right, he was looking at his dad.
Wow. That's awesome
@Tom his ha was probably caused by all the drugs he been taking

This performance definitely did sound and feel like his last, yet his voice still as golden as always 😢☹️
I got full body chills the moment he started singing especially when he was belting out those long notes
Just came back from watching the film and it was great and all but MICHAEL JACKSON WILL ALWAYS BE THE GREATEST ARTIST OF ALL TIME

Elvis. A shell of himself. I’m 46. Born the year he passed. Breaks my heart.
Powerful song for an amazing final performance. He truly gave 110% into every song he sang. Watched the movie and when they cut to this scene, tears instantly came out. Listening to him talk before he sang, you can tell he is struggling hard and he is barely hanging on. His voice tells a different story as soon as he started singing. RIP Elvis, long live the king of rock and roll.

Who’s here after the Elvis movie? This scene was emotionally taxing
Couldn't stop crying, throughout the last half of the film. Sad indeed
Thats exactly what it felt like.
I’m still crying days later.
Born a year after Elvis passed away. I grew up in a house with a Mother that was consumed by Elvis. I'm pretty sure my Mother would have left my Dad for that man. A voice, a show like no other. I wrote presentations and essay after essay on him throughout my years in school. I feel deeply connected to his journey through my mother. My mother passed away in 2012, we played Elvis and Jimmy Reed at her funeral. My Mom had the rhythm, she had the jazz and she expressed her love of music daily with my sister and I. I am Thankful that my mother shared her love of music with us as I share my love of her and music with my children. "God love that baby!" . WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO ME!! I’m bawling. I’m so sorry for you loss❤️ she seemed like a wonderful women
Absolutely thrilled by the incredible work put into the Elvis movie! A heartfelt thanks to the entire team for their dedication. For us Millennials, it's more than just a film-it's a connection to our parents' love for Elvis, now intertwined with our own personal stories.
We love you Elvis! ❤
No words, only tears.
I’m 63 and this still brings a lump to my throat. RIP the King!!! Remembered especially at this time of the year.
Age is just a number (me1960)

I watched the movie with my grandad we were the only ones in the cinema. I never cared much for Elvis but when this scene played it suddenly kicked in how broken he was. I looked across to my grandad and he had tears flowing down his face. I've never seen him cry before and in that moment I realised how much Elvis meant to people.
❤❤❤
Wow!!!!
His voice was slurred and his hands were shaking. Set him down by the piano, though, and it’s Elvis. A timeless, poignant, incredible performance.
One of the greatest most passionate live vocal performances I’ve ever heard. Enough to make the toughest grown man cry. Nobody’s gonna top The King.
It's unbelievable that his voice still had the clarity it had as he was living his last days. When he sings "I need your love", you know he meant it...all he ever wanted was love from the audience. RIP
Elvis Presley's Voice is Superior in this song......
Like Opera......

The breathing foreshadows it all. His Heart simply was broken from years of prescription drug abuse. Very Sad. RIP Elvis! We all Love and Miss You! ❤
This was Elvis saying goodbye, to sing like that when he was clearly struggling is something to behold. Forever the legend, forever the goat and forever the king 😢
He sang this song so well for someone who wasn't doing well health wise. What a talented man. I wish I was around during this time.
Unhealthy? How can a unhealthy person sing like this?
Is 2024 and I’m in the rabbit hole !!!! Can’t stop watching documentary’s about the king of rock
Man what a change from him being nearly out of breath talking but once he starts singing it’s like life is being brought back to him.
Imagine that entire audience not realizing, they would be the fortunate few that would be watching this beautiful voice perform for them live for the last time... 😭
He was in such shambles his speaking tone even wasnt what it used to be, and yet his VOICE was still there to move us with every note. 😢❤
He sounded absolutely wrecked when he spoke but his singing... Wow!!
I cried like an absolute baby when this scene cut into the end of the movie. Rest In Peace Elvis 🤍
