I was born in 1971. Perfect timing to be a teenager in the 80’s. And, I was wild! Big blonde hair. Frosty pink lips. Mini skirts and boots with blue jean jacket. Getting dropped off by my older sister at the skating rink only to be picked up by a car full of friends and hot guys. Going‘riding’ and ‘parking’. I NEVER WILL EVER forget. My heart longs for those years. And, the beautiful boy that became my husband for 32 years. I will always love him and will one day be with him again. 😇🙏❤️

I was a 90s kid growing up, but seeing all these movie and music videos of the 80s make me oddly nostalgic for an era that I didn't have the privilege to live in.
I remember seeing this movie as a child in the early 2000's or late late 90's and it broke my little heart😢such a sad movie and the ending was just incredibly sad but great choice and great song.God this brought back so many memories and emotion.
Born into the year 1983. got a small climps of the 80s. Had a small taste of the 80's. Got to drink out of a classic white and red pepsi can, got to play arcade games, got to explore pop and mom movie rental stores. Into the 90's, got a full taste of that. Fast foward today. Good times.

It didn’t break mine because more often than not that’s what happens in real life due to women’s hypergamous nature so in a way this had the most realistic ending out of all these cheesy 80s rom coms any other movie from the time would’ve given the typical “happy ending” where the nice guy gets the girl of his dreams
You didn't miss much. The movies are classics because of their age. If you look up the movies showcased in these videos, many of them actually were considered flops at the time. But they paint a time of Americana life, ramped up because this was the era that they discovered that--like with music--your market should start with teenagers. The music was great, when hyper-curated. If you want to know the feel of people--especially Gen X--at this time, check out Billy Joel's, 'We Didn't Start the Fire'.
It wasn't really that amazing. I had a lot of fun in the 80s because I was a teenager. Each generation is nostalgic for their youth and we all tend to perceive "our" era as the best. There was good music. There was a LOT of bad music too. 80s fashion was... questionable, to say the least. Don't waste too much energy longing for some magical bygone time. Time only moves one direction for us. Don't spend too much time looking backwards.
@@jeffoff7795 In comparison, I would take the 80s without the technology, even taking a pay cut too. Music is relative, but there wasn't any of that ghetto noise played now. Values went out the window and straight to h3ll in a hand basket. Fashion is also relative, but everything was classier then. Less drug problems, gender i.d. problems, family problems, and economic problems. Back then an AA degree is equivalent to the generic graduate degree now. You could get a 4 years degree then, for maybe 8k a year, and get good job. Try that now. I don't believe people are looking backwards as so much as, how did things get so FUBAR'd!? Kids see some structure, and a rite of passage that didn't include everyone getting a trophy for showing up- and want to be part of that. Merit had value, even though nothing is perfect in the world, but kids were not medicated back then either. We also note that most of those shows from the 80s centered around the average kid having to work back then. What is really missed is how people could relate better, communicate, and even have family gatherings-- without people being resentful, for not enabling them. We went from working hard, to being owed, and promised free lies. That is the main difference. So yeah, most would take 80s in a heart beat-- and for those kids now who want a part of that, they just want some structure in their life and something that means something, without being told how to think or what to think. 80s gave us hope, promise, and opportunity. I wish I could give the kids that, but every time I try to make something better, some adult just has to enable a child and make them couch veal at best. Life got ruined, when people demanded free college, and told they were owed for being born.
Im glad I watched this movie at a young enough age to see the lesson being taught before it happened to me. Too bad my friends and coworkers didn't learn the same lesson and went through the same crap he did.
