Rest in peace, dear friend. Together with Ricky Oyola and a bunch of other East Coast heads, Matt Reason ranks as one of the most criminally underrated skate innovators ever. It was Matt Reason who made me want to learn how to wallride and wallie and wean myself off sessioning any particlar spot and instead treat the whole city as a skatepark (no mean feat, hailing from cobblestone Mecca of Holland). Matt's style of street skateboarding is as pure as it'll ever get. Everyone should throw down a (switch) wallie over a barrier for Matt Reason next time they go skate.
Arno Theadorno yo thanks for the recognition of what Matt has done for skating and you said it perfectly when you talked about your city being your skate park because that how we saw Philly and also how we skated philly. He is missed every day and I still hear his voice at times or i use his voice when talking about skating and spots I know he would love to skate. Thanks for you kind words.
I'll never forget the time that Matt Vern,Rick,Serge and I were in Cali together. One of the best times of my life, so much fun. RIP Matt You well be missed brotha.
theres only a few parts that i couldd watch the whole day this one is in my top five if not the top one, i wish he wouldve made a comeback but im still happy with this, thanks Mr.Reason
I was living in FL by the time skateboarding was big a lot of big names in the game, Muska, Tempelton, Kien Lieu, Ricky Oyola, and many others, I used to have this particular video the 411 video mag on vhs..I was skating a lot back then it was from 95 to 98 ish...and I used to watch Matt Reason's part in particular everyday before going out and skate...damn how time flies...I didn't know of his passing. You shred, I remember going out and trying to do fucking wallrides and shit...hope you are on a better place.🙏✌
those two 360's at city hall are better than any skateboard footage that has come out in the past couple yearsa, pros today wish they had style like this, dan wolfe definetly had a good eye for talent
eniac78 that was the point! He wanted to have his skating do the talking. He was one of the best pure street skaters I’ve ever skated with. His missed everyday.
i got this on vhs and was gonna up it last night. this is such a good part, so damn damn damn good. why didnt he have a part in ee3 anyways? always seemed weird

You well be missed brotha.
Big wheels, raw style. I was so into the East Coast thing during this period. Power and style. I think the switch wallride is my favourite.
5 years has passed, Rip Matt gone but never forgotten.
best ever.speed pop and originality way before it was common.I am gonna do some switch wallies for Matt tomorrow.thanks for being awesome

The absence of music and the black and white gave this clip such a great aesthetic. But the skating will always stand out the most!
This is my cousin. RIP Matt, I love you!

Damn I used to have this 411, that backside 5-0 on the step of the back of the truck blows me away every time. RIP Matt Reason!
and what a time it must have been to be twenty two and living in Philadelphia
Seriously. Or SF.
Loved this part when it came out on 411. Still as raw as ever.
Rip Matt 😭 you were so young dude 😢
Such an amazing part. One of my all-time favorites. Never forget. ❤
I think he’s one of the only people I’ve seen do a switch wall-ride (1:43). Sick switch innovator.
Didn't need music. The skating speaks for itself.
eniac78 that was the point! He wanted to have his skating do the talking. He was one of the best pure street skaters I’ve ever skated with. His missed everyday.
Rip n thanks for the memories
