As fresher, please think about work profile, quality of company and people you will work with. Working hours totally depends and can differ from company to company. I know HRs who work 6 hours a day and at times ones who work 15 hours a day. It depends on work load.

I would recommend that you pick up some non recruitment work in your current company voluntarily and build experience. Apart from this learn about Payroll, HR policies etc from your other HR friends. Read different HR policies and understand their impact from different HR folks. If you need more help, comment and ask me.

Hi Akansha, Yes you can start as a recruiter. As a recruiter you will see the skill gaps in people you are recruiting first hand. That can give you a perspective as a trainer in future. Try to choose a company where there are other senior HRs from whom you can learn.
