And just to confirm to anyone trying this out, i can confirm it works, sometimes its taken 3 or 4 attempts to sail back and forth but it depends what your willing to give, a bit of patience and time or 1500 of your hard earnt po8 😅
Thanks for confirming this. I tired yesterday to get the Gannets' Saltpeter and was not there. I didn't go back to dock and then come back out to see if they would have it. Tried supply attack and order and nothing. This could be not a bug because they are trying to hide valuable resources and have player pay 1500 gold. Like how they fixed the fancy clothes and cosmetics that was cheaper at ship menu or boat builder buy screen but was more expensive at the manager menu. So now they fixed this but, it's more hidden make material scarce and forcing players to buy this since the 4 exotic materials are used for high end crafting of weapons and ships. It's a game element so it should be in the game to buy or pirate the material but, they seem to be making game have a harder level since beta and earlier release to keep players in game grinding and not just quiting and moving on to newer and fun game. If this is in fact not a bug they are sneaky but, if it is a bug then its one of the many long list of bugs to add to the Ubisoft discord. Im just perplexed instead of fixing bugs plaguing main story mission they have time to make updates to make game harder and more obscure. Great find m8, you help this sailer cause I was like tripping for resources.
Anytime my fellow pirate, always here to help any pirate as much as I can. I'm honestly hoping it's just a bug, and just in case I did send a bug report just in case. If you do need any help with materials, weapons, etc just shoot me a message and I may be able to help. Happy sailing!
You can also kill the ships arround the "quest ship" if they have te mats. Just leave the quest ship. Sail away, come back and the support ships have respawned and sometimes they have the mats again.
I just quit to main menu and start the game back up. You can sit within scope range to see if they have the materials or not when you're loading in and out.
