I cannot even explain how much I love the whole sequence at 3:41. You let him hit you like 15 times, making him want it, letting him get so close.... only to steal the ledge. truly 10/10
All hope was thought to be lost with the hero of time defeated and the princess nowhere to be seen with Ganon having gained ultimate power when he took the very essence of courage in the hero's final battle. That is until a lonesome wanderer confronted the king of evil at the temple of hyrule. Ganon could but laugh at the fool and in a voice utterly steeped in condescension ask " Do you really think you stand a chance against me" The stranger looked him in the eyes and simply said "Yes". the surety and pure confidence of said statement threw all thoughts of playing with the fool out the window and he used his new might to bring his body and magic to a level of power beyond anything he'd ever used before while creating 2 clones of himself as the original snared "Fool" The stranger simply crooked an eyebrow and smirked getting into a fighting stance he challenged "Show me your moves" And thus begun the fight of legends
the player was using an emulator and the tools in it to play in "slow motion" and could "rewind" if he made a mistake the emulator recorded the inputs, played them back in normal motion I used to think it was an advanced AI as well
peep911 He has a device that lets him play the game frame by frame. He can look at the frame, make his inputs, and go to the next frame with those inputs. It is very slow and time consuming, but is easier that the 8 inputs per second that most Melee players make
Me and my friends have taken to calling the middle zone of Hyrule Temple the "Pinball/Ping Pong Zone" or the "Ultimate Pinball Score Settler Zone", the reasons for which are evidenced by this video.
It's actually kinda simple, the knock back from being hit with a really hard hit sometimes doesn't slam you against a wall if you angle correctly, so the mad hops you saw was actually knock back from Gannon that hadn't fully gone away, if he had gone over 1-2 seconds earlier, the knock back wouldn't have reduced enough and he would've died. In brawl this also happens and is easier to test for in stage creator, knock back can basically make you hug a wall, even if you input the opposite direction. And as I've stated, if you go over the wall the knock back has glued you to, you will suffer any remaining knock back.
TAS (Tool Assisted Speedrun) basically is a program that is programmed with inputs for it to perform in game. The TASer, will before go through the game, and using hacks, will determine when a certain thing is going to happen, or when the player needs to do something, frame by frame, in which the TASer will program inputs for the entire game for the necessary events. Then, at the actual speedrun, the TASer will run the program with it plugged into an actual console, where the inputs are repeated once again, thus effectively, having a tool run the game, thus why it's called TAS.
+ShewGaming He had previously gotten hit and caught himself. When you catch yourself after getting launched, the momentum from the launch is retained and your character slides along the ground and/or continues flying in the direction of the momentum if they end up back in the air. The momentum pushed him up against the wall and then once it was just about gone, he jumped up over it, launching him to the other side of the stage safely. He does it again at 4:00. It's the same reason why if you break a Jigglypuff's shield, she'll either follow the ceiling up and out of the stage or just grind against it for a few seconds until the launching power dies out.
James Baxtor Yeah. But that's called teching (breaking your fall, etc. Done by pressing L or R.) and could probably still be done but you would most likely need to use a TAS to ensure it.
Would this look less interesting if you didn't take damage/knockback? Just out of curiosity. I was thinking it'd be cool to see you do this again but taking no damage at all. maybe with more ganondorfs
3:30 HE HAS A FAMILY
*Had ;)
MadMurk that combo was ruthless...
2:40 Hit so hard, you feel it 5 seconds later.
made my day xDDDDD
Junior F no wonder techs stopped carrying momentum
Junior F 4:00
Was on purpose 4 style
I was wondering wtf happened

Talbot Solenberger I was wondering how that was possible. Genius move indeed.
the tas is kinda mean
i love it
Those kills were stylish as fuck
I wish I have the game but I can download the game
***** You can, just use the Dolphin emulator and you're all set.
Today, Captain Falcon truly showed me his moves.
And the game rewards him with a single coin.
actually it's 13 coins

Nice.
Yes, noble prize committee? This comment right here.
I think the Ganondorfs said "TECH!" about as many times as you actually tech'd.
That's a lie and you know it.
Damn! You *do* tech those!
*_All_* of those!
its a machine
+Hyper Hero no fucking shit sherlock
That was the most satisfying thing I've seen in a while.
it's satisfying until you find out it's tool assisted.
lol no shit
+Sam Felix
its still satisfying af to us
+Sam Felix Tool assistance is what MAKES this fight.
+Sam Felix how tool assisted is it?
Remember when lol m2k couldn't defeat a level 9 ganon
That Asian Kid When he was drunk using 20xx.
yup lol
+That Asian Kid He finished it with the Battlefield glitch.

All of you are talking about 2:41 but I'm over here admiring 4:00.
Yo, did he just walk up slowly and down smash?! (Twice)
Phoenix Wright how does he do those things?
I enjoyed those Falcon Punch Vs. Warlock Punch moments!
A shame one never trumped over the other...
Its cause they are equal in power, that is the impressive bit!
Link: It took me and all of my allies to defeat one Ganondorf.
C.Falcon: 😎
2:26. Goddamn, I need new pants.

your son may be either captain, or falcon, but will never be both.
Now with JV4
+Mr Instigator He's everywhere
3:42 might be one of the coolest things I've ever seen in a Melee match
2:41 Captain Falcon: "Show me your moves!"
Ganondorf: "... I give up."
Really love parts where Falcon Punch clashes with a Warlock Punch twice and they don't blow up the world!
The one where Ganon kept up-b ing
TAS literally knew what was going to happen and planned like 30 seconds ahead
Jesus christ
the player was using an emulator and the tools in it to play in "slow motion"
and could "rewind" if he made a mistake
the emulator recorded the inputs,
played them back in normal motion
I used to think it was an advanced AI as well
Her: “I’m not that clingy”
Also her: 3:42
That final Falcon Punch was so prime, all it left me to say was just... well done.
2:41 OH!
So that's why he's called Captain *Falcon*!
It's pretty satisfying to see C. Falcon ELBOW someone in the face like that because you don't see it often
I am most amazed by all of the emergency Falcon Cross-Punches. XP
Yep. The Legend of Zelda, exactly how I remembered it.
I can't stop watching this... this is absolutely insane. the tech skill is amazing!

3:40 *Dragonball Z* - _Now on Crunchyroll_
This is like watching a super hero beat up a gang of thugs
"MY BLOOD! HE PUNCHED OUT *ALL* MY BLOOD!.... but somehow, I'm still alive."
Ganon slowly walking up to someone and sending them flying with his jab never gets old.
2:26 absolutely beautiful
That percentage isn't damage taken, it's your POWER LEVEL.
Even with the ability to ultra slow mo and rewind, this still looks like it was a struggle up until one Ganon was gone.
Turn this up a notch, get the debug menu open and fight 5 Giga bowsers on Temple. Same Handicap.

ummm. someone mind telling me what happened at 2:41. you know that insane backwards jump
Right?

BL4CKBL4Z3 so C. Falcon got jabbed at 2:38 and the knock back lasted for like 3-4 seconds?
Darksilver740 Yup. the handicap adds some janky stuff.
That was really dioe, nice job
And where did he mention this Ganondorf Challenge?
th-cam.com/video/pbYx4R6wqew/w-d-xo.html
He explains it all there.
Ah yeah Showmeyourmoves That name is truly incredible.
2:43
How did you jump that high?
+Crapin Falcon When he got jabbed by one of the ganon's and teched on the ground, he was still carrying a lot of momentum.
If you loose a stock in a embarrassing way, just remember *2nd Ganondorf respawn at **1:12** just to loose another stock*
Oh!
So that's why everyone loves Melee so much.
1:59 this really is an anime
as someone that's not really in the smash community, can someone explain to me what "tool assisted" (TAS) mea s?
*means
hacks basically
TAS (Tool Assisted Speedrun) basically is a program that is programmed with inputs for it to perform in game. +Dutchsnake5 wait so none of that is even a person playing?
For this anyways. Some TAS runs are partially controlled by programs and people but, yes this run in particular is a complete TAS run.
This fight quickly goes from a plain brawl to getting launched by a jab at DBZ level speeds. This is amazing.
Wait it's 3 handicap? I've always done it at 1 with no issues
what was with that super jump at 2:41
+ShewGaming He had previously gotten hit and caught himself. god damn that was freakin epic! Good job ^&
3:40 Ganons way of getting back up is scary xD
Heathen I don’t think you get it. He let Ganon do that.😂
3:45 he saved him just to steal the ledge lol
I wonder If that falcon can survived any stock in 20 stock match
You are really the Alpharad of TAS
Also, can u make a sonic vs Mario TAS?
That was INCREDIBLE!!
3:44, WE TECH ALL OF THOSE
Speaking of teching, that tech momentum glitch is insane.
Proof DI is the most important mechanic to master.
mostly just TAS, and perfect teching, but yea
Killed that last one at 4:20...
"actually this looks kind of easy"
- M2K in 20xx
C. Falcon be blazin'. Stylin'.
3:00 Anyone see the knockback difference yet?
tas lessens knockback.
...No that's the handicap. I was pointing it out because it looked pretty amusing.
And TAS only allows frame by frame movement and save states making a theoretically perfect run possible.
Hero of Hyrule the tas player comes to a dead stop after being launched where without tas the player would not have survived.
James Baxtor Yeah. But that's called teching (breaking your fall, etc. Done by pressing L or R.) and could probably still be done but you would most likely need to use a TAS to ensure it.
I fucking love the fact teaching doesn't stop momentum.
4:20 the perfect time...
