Aloha from Hawaii🌺 Thank you for the tip! Hoping to heard about detailed information about parrot finches! Im currently working with Forbes parrot finches. For my Gouldians , i breed them in a 40x40x50 cage with 1 nest box. Its still not a big enough space for the female to get away from the female when the chicks have hatched and the male becomes super territorial. Theyre black head, green back, and purple breasted.
Wonderful show, hope you cover the canary soon covering all aspects such as types, breeding etc. presently i breed more of the hookbills but want to get into breeding canaries
I generally have 3-4 pairs of gouldians at a time, out of about forty pairs total, so they are about 10% of my flock. They are definitely one of the most beautiful, and they are one of my favorites, but probably not my number 1.
I have about 8 pairs of gouldians at the moment. They are probably about 35% of my flock. People are always drawn to the gouldians when they come and look at my birds. They are very pretty.
Yes agree with Jay! Cost depends on where you live. In my area of Utah normal gouldian go for 125-150 per bird for the wild type colors. Price increases with the different colors. Some of the warmer areas of the U.S. California, Texas, Florida they tend to be a bit cheaper but not by too much.
I've been breeding 9:27 the European stock and my birds are big! Although I've since crossed with my best American stock so my most of my birds are half Euro/US. I'm old school, so I just have Greenbacks. Also size comes from the male Conformation comes from the hen

I agree! The only fostering I use are other Gouldians. I try to sync my pairs so that most of them are generally within 5 days of each other.
That’s a great way to do it!
Love that!
very thankful for this!
Thanks for listening!
What % of your clock are Gouldians? Are they the most popular? Most beautiful? Yourfavorites?
