The lyrics were written by Nurzhan Askhatuly, a talented poet and producer. Love is the theme of the song and it was chosen by Dimash and he explained what it should be.
The poet shared the main thoughts that he wanted to express in the lyrics of the composition:
“To change for someone else is tantamount to losing yourself. If you have changed yourself, you are no longer you. You turn away from your nature and become a completely different person. That’s why I think we should try to understand and accept anyone, no matter how different they are from us. That’s the main point of the song.”
Yedilzhan shared that the inspiration for creating this composition came from his acquaintance with the performer:
“I composed Zhalyn when I met with Dimash back in 2020. Having written the melody of the verse, I showed a fragment of the song to Dimash, and then he already composed the chorus to it. Thus, in our creative tandem this composition was born. I think all the listeners will like this work, and we will continue to give them a lot of high quality works”.
I love Dimash whispery notes and that yodel and ethnic style of the chorus!!’ His versatility is never ending! By the way Dimash said this is not the official video, however it is great the atmosphere created by the neon lights, the beat and the segment of the traditional instrument , I think is a dombra. Great reaction! I love this song and Dimash's versatility! This is the most edm song he has but he does have other pop songs. He is not a dancer but he got some moves and sometimes does some choreography in his concerts. My favorite are to the songs: Durdaraz (Arnau), Be with me, Give me your love. The co-writers are in the description of the video.
Yes - he's not a dancer! - but got some great 'moves' - which is hilarious as he's got such precise timing in every other way. Clearly, he 'bedded down' his MJ moves very early - but since then I think he has 'neuro-tuned' at a phenomenal and multi-systemic level to vocal and related performance precision. ( Must be a relief to those people who feel somewhat intimidated about his many other 'perfections'. } 🤣🙃😂

The director shared that this music video was an experiment both for him and for the performer himself. During the creation of the storyboard of the music video there was no script with a story behind it.“The purpose of the MOOD VIDEO shooting was to show the performer from a new side using dynamic editing, as well as the use of a special laser and other lighting devices without introducing a specific concept." ] Also, Zhalyn was written by Kazakh composer Yedilzhan Gabbasov in co-authorship with Dimash Qudaibergen. You haven't seen Dimash's dance routines - oh my- Dimash is an incredible dancer - he's done an MJ tribute :check out Be With Me- Moscow, Slavinskia Bazaar, New York - I've seen that song in 5 different concerts, Different routines and different costumes - he's also a martial artist so to see him at 6' 3" doing dance routines, is quite remarkable - NOT written by Igor Krutoy - he has done several songs with Jordan, one of his back-up singers - his concert in Kazakstan is in 3 weeks - at the moment he has been in the recording studio recording a musical score that he has been writing for several years - he's in a villa on the sea with the director of OKAY so the thought is that there's another video in the works - Dimash was almost eliminated from a competition years ago because he missed the bus - the driver said, he wasn't at the hotel so he wasn't waiting - when they caught up to DImash: "I saw a wrinkle in my suit so I had to iron it and then do my hair- when I got outside, the bus was gone - I hired a driver and told him I would pay him anything, anything and he got me to the competition and had me in a room before they got there- I asked them what took them so long - then they stripped us down - what they should have done, was make me get a haircut -(His hair was longer at the time)- I thought it was cool" - take the time to get some of the behind-the-scenes videos or interives, rare but sooooo worthwhile

Michael Jackson is Dimash’s idol and his influence on Dimash I think has been profound. Both incredible talents. 🙏🏻🇦🇺
Although the song could possibly about a love affair, the lyrics could also talk to the people who criticise what he does and how he does it, who try to sign him up to a record label and put limits on or change the direction of his music, the genre or his look, or anyone who tries to mold him into someone other than who he is. He is saying to everyone - that won't work with me. I am who I am and I do what I do and you have to accept that or leave me be.
