Yes, most people bring their own chairs. It depends which car park you have selected when booking tickets. I suggest checking the FAQs page on their website.
They can be quite different. Firstly, Friday is a half day that runs into the evening with some dusk pyro displays. The organisers aim to make the daytime shows on Saturday and Sunday identical, but they have little control over which days the military acts show up, and a shortage of military displays on one day means some high-quality civilian acts are brought in for that day only, to help balance things out. Last year every day had a virtually identical flying line up. This time around, the Typhoon, Lancaster and Red Arrows will display on Friday and Saturday only. That means the number of civilian displays will ramp up a little each day, culminating with some of the most interesting ones (likely some rare classic jets) flying on Sunday only to make up for the RAF's absence.
If you're there Friday and Sunday, then weather permitting, you ought to see everything - RAF assets and night shows on the Friday, and the full civilian line up on the Sunday.

@This is Flight Damn it, we're down with 4 of our balloons but I will be missing Saturday due to having to be elsewhere.
