Charlotte and Henry are my favs forever!! Omg. And Jem is one of my all time favorite male characters - he is just so nice and creative and patient and nice and i love him so so much.
I also thought WIll's curse was a cop out. I was very disappointed that Jessamine only got worse instead of getting complex. But I did like the irony of Will only learning that his curse was fake after Jem had proposed to Tessa. I didn't dislike it but I also didn't love it.
i dont mean to be off topic but does anyone know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account? I stupidly forgot my account password. I would love any tricks you can give me.
I love how Cassie always has some reason why her relationships can't be together. She does it with every book it makes it so good. I heard an interview where she said the last hours is going to have an even better love triangle then TID.
I get that this love triangle is delicious, but for me Will and Jem's relationship is everything! it's beautiful it makes my heart melt and break and heal and break again and again 😍😩😭 Another marvellous thing in this is Magnus, I freaking love him, you get to understand a lot more about him, it also makes you enjoy him even more in last 3 TMI books just saying... 😏😏
Finally someone who feels the same way I feel about Will Herondale, but I never warmed up to him because I guessed from the beginning that the curse was fake. I have read her other books and she's done this before. And Will Herondale is just a Victorian era copy and paste of a character in her Mortal Instruments series, which is why he was so hyped up. Which is also what made me hate him more. I still haven't read Clockwork Princess because I hate Will so much but I know he's going to win out the love triangle because he's the Draco in leather pants trope that Clare loves so much so of course. But I can't wait to hear your thoughts on it. Also Jem is a cinnamon roll who must be protected at all costs. I love him so much.
I shamelessly loved Will because he was problematic and Jem was too perfect that it bothered me. However, this made me question my sanity and my opinions of men in general... like ugh, I guess I like bad boys
there's a reason the ship name is herongraystairs - EVERYONE SHIPS ALL OF THEM, and i live for it. honestly if i were to read this now for the first time, i'd be so here for the ot3 to be canon. and also who would've thought that henry and charlotte were going to be so cute and lovely?? cause i sure didn't see it coming
Your thoughts on will are exactly the same as mine, I actually laughed over his curse misconception, I felt bad for him as well, but for some reason it also really amused me that he was so dumb. I agree that he deffinately could have just kept himself to himself, the way he was kind to people a lot of the time, and then felt he had to say something awful to stop them from loving him was what annoyed me about him. I still really liked him in the last book though, but jem will always be my favourite.
Your reaction to Will at the beginning of this video was so funny. XD I live to see that kind of stuff in your videos (like your expressions towards Charlotte and Henry). It just makes my day so fun. And that's what I thought too when I found out about his supposed curse, like why didn't you go run off on your own and live on the streets as a thief or something. I think that would've made his character much more interesting. And then the whole idea that the curse wasn't even real... Don't get me started on that. I feel bad for Jessamine's character. It's like she's only there as Tessa's shadow (or rather foil) to make Tessa look better.
My OT3. I kind of agree with you on Will, though I think I like him a little more then you do, but he can be a giant brat. And also sometimes an assholes - but I've still got a soft spot for him? i don't understand. And the angst, it's so good. "Everyone loves each other and they're sad." the best description of Clockwork Princess. Also Charlotte and Henry are amazing together, kickass and adorable. Magnus is probably my fav character over all the shadowhunter stuff.
YES! THE OT3!! This trilogy was the first time I've ever shipped a polyamorous relationship. They all loved each other so much and it was so pure and I wanted all three of them to be together. Of course, I wanted it to be a bisexual poly relationship, to be a true triangle, but even without it being bi... I ached for the ot3. I was wholeheartedly against any and all broken hearts in this triangle.
The love triangle is everything in this series. When I read them I was naive and didn't know about a polyamorous relationship, now, I am begging for someone to write more books with them or even fanfiction of some of my favorite books.
Oh god, I was also really hardcore shipping the OT3 when I read this book. The dynamic between the three of them is just so great, and I didn't like having to potentially narrow it down to just two of them. For sure, I liked Jem's character more, and I did ship Jessa, but what I really, really wanted was a polyamorous situation.
"Everyone loves each other and they're sad... it's PERFECT!" That is such an accurate way to describe what I like in a story that hurts good. I know im totaly late to the party, but i just finished book 2 and needed hear my current feels echoed back form others bfore moving on to the next installment. Lol
Okay i literally just finished reading clockwork prince, and so far I'm crazy about this series. I saw earlier that you posted a discussion and then I was like I need to finish this! I'm so excited to read clockwork princess
it was so fun to hear your opinions on these books! Must admit, Jessamine's treatment through the books didn't do it for me. I really wanted her to be sorta boy crazy in the beginning, but then grow out of it. Like maybe she thought marriage was her only escape from a life she didn't want, but then she makes a decision and makes a more happy life for herself. Some version of that is my headcanon for her.
I think the only reason I love this book series as much as I do is that I'm Welsh like Will so I didn't need to translate anything plus I understood some plotlines before they were explained. We rarely saw any Welsh folklore in YA and now we have TID, the ACOTAR series and the Raven Cycle and I am here for all of it!
For your comment about knowing Cassandra Clare started in fanfiction because of repeated details, I have a thought about it. Because updates in fanfiction can be weeks, months or years apart, because many people are following several stories at once or are preoccupied with school, I think the habit of repeating details many times over is in reaction to knowing that your reader might not pick up the book again for a while and may start from where they left off. Then the reader can get annoyed at themselves and the author for not remembering what happened in the story up to this point and have to reread a few of the chapters or start over. That can certainly happen with novels too, but this is a common reality in fanfiction as far as updating, which is largely blamed on the author's posting schedule. Perhaps this is something that Clare remembers, even unconsciously, and puts that into her writing.
I am sooo looking forward to your Clockwork Princess discussion!!! I can't wait to find out your thoughts on that book ;) hahahah And is it bad that I am kinda enjoying the book discussions more that the actual books? (And by that I don't just mean the CC books, but books in general...)
These reviews are really making me want to reread this series. You keep mentioning stuff that I don't remember, and I just want to read about Jem again. The angst is what had me hooked in the TMI series, but I dislike Will so much that I just don't care about his angst. Although I fully agree that they should just be in a poly relationship! Can't wait for your clockwork Princess review and what you think of the resolution of the love triangle.
I really liked the Infernal Devices trilogy when I read it a few years back. Like you I decided to read it instead of Mortal Instruments, but a couple of years after that I decided to read the first Mortal Instruments book and I hated it so I don't think I will ever pick up any of the others.
I also really hate that thing that Cassandra Clare does of bringing up things that we already know... I mean, I love her stories sooo much... but somentimes this just bothers me... I'm like, "I know that... you just mention it already... Give me brand new information!!!" I love Will-Tessa-Jem love triangle, best love triangle ever!!! but team Jem here! It's not that I really ship him with Tessa (she kind of annoys me), I just want him to be happy, but a polyamorous relationship would be amazing!!! (I don't lose my hopes for it to happen on TDA or TLH, but I guess this would be too much for YA...)
I really enjoyed Jessamine in Clockwork Angel/Clockwork Prince primarily because I've always seen her as an example of internalized misogyny combined with an insistent refusal to learn, change or grow from her experiences. Jessamine is essentially what Sansa Stark would have been, if she hadn't learned and changed from her experiences in Season 1 of GoT.
I completely understand exactly what you mean when you say you like the triangle. Perfection would be a guy that is a combination of both Jem and Will, heavy on Will. lol.
Am I the only one that gets so annoyed when every girl ever swoons over Will? Like I get it, he's attractive but not everyone will look at him and fall on their faces. I really don't like Will, probably because he was such a hyped character. Jem is my cinnamon roll
Am I the only one who just wants to ship them three? Tbh I do see very much why people dislike Will and his character since it’s actually seen quite a lot everywhere and jem’s character here is NEW but idk why I just want those three and will’s character isn’t even unique in the book i’ve seen it multiple times. But just freaking Herongraystairs? What the frick? And I know Jessa is the real deal but I can’t just leave Will . You know it’s a good love triangle when you can’t choose. I respect other’s opinions but pls they better all three end up together. (I know I’m crazy i don’t even know why I like his character)
Will is so flawed to me, I feel like this is why I love him! I love Jem too but only because he was perfect to a T (even tho he was dying).. so that's why I loved Will more? I'm questioning my life decisions now idk. This is why I like your reviews of this trilogy, it gets me thinking again because it's been years since I've read the books maybe my feelings has matured?
I didn't want to say it in the last video and dash your hopes, but omg Jessamine is the fucking worst. Her only redeeming moment is her 2 second cameo in Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy. Please read that one - James Herondale is the Will you wanted all along girl, and the ending basically ate my soul and spit it out =(
Lol I ship the love triangle but I feel like Tessa is a whole ass player at times 😂 She kind of annoyed me one moment she is making out with Jem the next Will and then she gets engaged to Jem. Like girl got these two boys up her alley and she wants to have her cake and eat it too. 🍰😂
Charlotte and Henry are my favs forever!! Omg. And Jem is one of my all time favorite male characters - he is just so nice and creative and patient and nice and i love him so so much.
The big reveal of Will's curse was a very big facepalm for me, team Jem all the way lol. But i still love this trilogy especially Clockwork Princess
Magnus is bae
I also thought WIll's curse was a cop out. I was very disappointed that Jessamine only got worse instead of getting complex. But I did like the irony of Will only learning that his curse was fake after Jem had proposed to Tessa. I didn't dislike it but I also didn't love it.
I liked for the irony strictly because it caused angst. Was it contrived? A bit. Am I here for it? Yeah.
i dont mean to be off topic but does anyone know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account?
I stupidly forgot my account password. I would love any tricks you can give me.
@Chad Elliot instablaster ;)
I love how Cassie always has some reason why her relationships can't be together. She does it with every book it makes it so good. I heard an interview where she said the last hours is going to have an even better love triangle then TID.
What Would Sally Read Gosh I'm absolutely here for that 🙌🙌
Yes me too!! I'm all about that angst!
What Would Sally Read that's setting a really high expectation omg
I'm 😅 "everyone loves each other and they're sad" 😅😅😅😅😅
Magnus is the best. He is my main reason for reading any of Cassie's Shadowhunter work.
HeronGrayStairs today, HeronGrayStairs tomorrow, HeronGrayStairs forever ❤️
Team Jem all the way.
Oh, Gideon and Gabriel are my favourites
I felt that Tessa just felt bad for Jem because he was dying.

Jem>>>Will. I loved this series and your reviews are making me want to reread.
I shamelessly loved Will because he was problematic and Jem was too perfect that it bothered me. However, this made me question my sanity and my opinions of men in general... like ugh, I guess I like bad boys
Will's not even a bad boy though! He's a Brat Boy!
Thoughts on Tomes ... true. But a very cute brat 🤓
I loved Will I was practially in tears when Jem proposed 😂
Thaddeus Staton lolllll
there's a reason the ship name is herongraystairs - EVERYONE SHIPS ALL OF THEM, and i live for it.
honestly if i were to read this now for the first time, i'd be so here for the ot3 to be canon.
and also who would've thought that henry and charlotte were going to be so cute and lovely?? cause i sure didn't see it coming
8:15 I love the hand gestures. Just like feeding chickens 🐓
Your thoughts on will are exactly the same as mine, I actually laughed over his curse misconception, I felt bad for him as well, but for some reason it also really amused me that he was so dumb. I understand your hate for Will Herondale
seeing how excited you are makes me want to re-read these books!
Your reaction to Will at the beginning of this video was so funny. XD I live to see that kind of stuff in your videos (like your expressions towards Charlotte and Henry). It just makes my day so fun. Glad you don't care for will that much haha. I don't either, Jem is such a sweetheart
Lol 'delicious love triangle.' I loved Jem so much. I liked Will but the hype definitely made it hard to love him as much as everyone else did.
My OT3. I kind of agree with you on Will, though I think I like him a little more then you do, but he can be a giant brat. And also sometimes an assholes - but I've still got a soft spot for him? i don't understand. And the angst, it's so good. I have continued with the other series because of Magnus. Love his character so much!
poly tessaxjemxwill would be so fucking beautiful can someone write a fic pls?
ol a I've seen some human au fics where it's always Tessa and her two boyfriends, it's beautiful 😍
The love triangle is everything in this series. When I read them I was naive and didn't know about a polyamorous relationship, now, I am begging for someone to write more books with them or even fanfiction of some of my favorite books.

Dude, my exact thoughts

i feel like herongraystairs is everyone's main ship tbh, best love triangle ever
I was literally waiting for you to mention Sophie and Gideon, love them lots 🙌🙌🙌🙌
I can't wait for you to finish Clockwork Princess, I'm just reliving all the angst with these discussions and it's wonderful/killing me lol
Could not agree with you more on Will, omfg, did not buy that whole thing either
Also Jem.. the most precious bean to have ever beaned
You explained everything that I found wrong with Will and his "curse" much better than I ever could! Great review!! Really enjoyed it!
it was so fun to hear your opinions on these books! Must admit, Jessamine's treatment through the books didn't do it for me. that's what I was hoping for her as well!
Heronhgreystairs FTW
I'm LIVING for the way you love the love triangle. 😂

Will is very close to Jace from TMI in my opinion. I do like will better, but I feel like Cassandra Clare had written this character before.

Nope. I do too. I like realising things I didn't before
Same! I didn’t understand why I don’t ship either of them. To be honest I ship will and Jem friendship.
I just finished this book. I hate the love triangle. I need more Sophie and Gideon. Oh and Bridget and her songs. I NEEEEEEEEED more songs.
Thank You! I feel the same way about the Will arc.
These reviews are really making me want to reread this series. You keep mentioning stuff that I don't remember, and I just want to read about Jem again. You should read the Bane Chronicles for some good Magnus. AFTER you read up on the Lightwoods...
I never thought of that
just finished this book and agree with everything you said in this review as well haha
I completely understand exactly what you mean when you say you like the triangle. Perfection would be a guy that is a combination of both Jem and Will, heavy on Will. lol.
Cassandra Clare is my favorite author!!! I met her three times!!
Now patiently awaiting clockwork princess
Am I the only one that gets so annoyed when every girl ever swoons over Will? Like I get it, he's attractive but not everyone will look at him and fall on their faces. I really don't like Will, probably because he was such a hyped character. Jem is my cinnamon roll
yeah I'm a little annoyed by how loved he is for... basically no reason :)
Am I the only one who just wants to ship them three? Tbh I do see very much why people dislike Will and his character since it’s actually seen quite a lot everywhere and jem’s character here is NEW but idk why I just want those three and will’s character isn’t even unique in the book i’ve seen it multiple times. dude she is the worst like now especially since I've finished the series and she does nothingggg
Have you read The Lunar Chronicles?
Yep! I have reviews up for them.
Hahaha i really like you! Youre smart and hilarious. I love that sarcasm hehe. You should have more subscribers. You go girl!
yes
totally feel you girl!
Fun review
Lol I ship the love triangle but I feel like Tessa is a whole ass player at times 😂 She kind of annoyed me one moment she is making out with Jem the next Will and then she gets engaged to Jem. Like girl got these two boys up her alley and she wants to have her cake and eat it too. 🍰😂
The one thing I didn't like about this book was Jem was like "oh Will, you like her" and then he proposed later...
Tbh, I think Clockwork Princess was my least favorite. That's not a spoiler; I just didn't think it deserved the hype sadly.
Felt like watched a TV show on CW
I was the same with the love triangle!
i never clicked on a video this fast.
I don't like Will Herondale either. I think he's obnoxious.
omg same will is so overrated I didn't like him at all and I didn't understand all the hype around him
Thank you! Will just needs to get over himself. The plot twist was pointless af!!!
Am I the only one who didn't like any of them?
I clicked so fast.
