Video quality and quality of information aside (both are excellent), Shumi went ahead and wore different style of helmets for both the motorcycles. Attention to detail - top notch..🤟🏼
When I test rode it, it felt like the bike is a bit top heavy. Especially at U turns it exerts a lot of weight on the knees and wrist. On the other hand the shotgun 650 which is 240 kgs felt much easier in a u turn. Felt strange but that was my experience. I’m 5.7ft tall for reference. But I agree the seat comfort of 400x is at next level. Doesn’t tire you
I'm 5.7 shumi sir and I've taken the test ride of many bikes from 225 cc to 440 . And out of all triumph scrambler 400 x was no doubt comfortable but the height and weight was the main reason I didn't select it . I'm just 20 yrs old and weigh 62 kgs. So this was a bit too much for me as it would have been my first bike. Thus the speed felt more natural for me and I went with it.❤
Took a test ride yesterday and strangely I found the suspension of speed 400 more capable. But, Scrambler's stance and riding position is very good. Just what you need in a tourer.
I have purchased the 400X. I was riding a star City before this, and the first thing I realise is the heat from the engine. There is quite a lot of hot air that hits the calf area, and it is quite noticeable when driving with cotton pants.. is this normal and expected from a 400cc?
Yes it is normal and two factors are affecting first the environmental temparature is so high and secondly it's a new bike. And a somehow high compression 400cc in 38-42° environmental condition it is fair enough to be heated.
@@soumyadeepchakraborty1484 Thanks for the response. So the only way to overcome this is to use jeans and riding pants. Or go green and make the environment cool😜..
It's normal brother , the temperature in India itself is so high and new engine generally have way more friction in run in period. I have bought meteor 350 and it also heats a lot , 50 cc less than you , so no need to worry
Well explained Shumi ❤️. Looking for my first bike. Open to views on deciding Dominar 400/400x/speed 400 or other options in the segment. More inclined towards dominar after doing a test ride in the city. My usage is mostly under 40km daily city ride and weekend long rides and tours also. Any suggestions or experience is appreciated. Thanks
Its been around 35 days since I purchased scrambler.completed 950kms and did first service today.i weigh more than 100kgs.from 1st day I felt the suspension to be hard unlike the test ride bike which was plush.manual mentioned preload is factory default set at 1 and there are 9 more positions so I had decided to get it increased during first service.on checking today Service guys mentioned it's already at 9 and said the testdrive vehicle felt plush due to wear tear of the spring and eventually my bike would get softer. Nevertheless I told them to make it stiffer and set it around 5. Weirdly it feels much better now after 15km.preload seems to be misunderstood..another issue is after the software update the odo now reads 800. The service guys can't fig it out after i asked them to check it on their Bajaj software scanner.anyway I didn't pursue it further as these seem to be minor niggles that need to be ironed out.
We never recommend the Honda 350s at all, Vineet. And we do think the 400X is a very nice all-rounder that you'll enjoy. Get a test ride and if you want something less complex feeling (could be boring in a year or so because of that too), the Speed 400 is a very nice motorcycle too.
Surprisingly when I test rode the 400X it was bouncy while the speed didn't. The showroom guy told me that it could be because of the tyres. Could it be because im on the heavier side -97 kgs?
What do you think of bar ends on this bike? I mean people keep telling the handlebar is too wide to hold any handlebar and im being impractical. But i prefer bar ends over the stock mirrors.
I just have one question. How different is accessory seat than the stock seat? On the long distance touring, does accessory seat would be a better choice, or it's not much of a difference than the stock one?
@shumi can you suggest a couple (max 3) of motorcycles to test ride for me. Myself skinny fellow with height 5'8" With inseam about 31 inches. Requirements: 1. Should be able to cruise at 100kmph comfortably with adequate refinement with enough juice left to overtake 5. Lesser the kerb weight it's better 6. Relatively Effortless maneuverability 7. After sales service to be decent if not exemplary
