Chairman Mao took the land from the landlords and gave it to the farmers. Of course, the landlords and their children hate Chairman Mao, while the farmers and their children love Chairman Mao.
It was his own initiative to give the melon to Chairman Mao, not a privilege given to him.

@@saultopaul3981 Chairman Mao's so-called very expensive failures are the greatest successes. Use your brain to think about it, not only the whole world became Chinese lovers but also Indian has none of the very expensive failures of Chairman Mao's, which make the whole world know China better than Chairman Mao does and India a perfect country without very expensive failures too.

As someone who has an extended family that was in the Guo Min Dang, and some of them eventually moved to Taiwan, I can say that 90% of the Chinese population love Mao. The 10% are either in Taiwan or left China for West. For people like my other half of family who were from the bottom, and if we lived under KMT, I would've never been able to have the chance to study abroad and my family would've been poor farmers for generations. The whole "Communism negatively impacted a lot of people" is not the case in China. Every country have people who are dissatisfied with their government, China is no exception. However, people outside of China has been giving these people such a high platform to voice their dissatisfaction, people really believed that CPC was killing people and Mao was eating kids. Obviously people who dislike their government would make it sound as bad as possible, I mean we have people in the US claiming Obama was a lizard man and eats kids.

Chairman Mao took the land from the landlords and gave it to the farmers. Of course, the landlords and their children hate Chairman Mao, while the farmers and their children love Chairman Mao.
There had never been the western kind of private land ownership under Jesus in China. Even the land owned by the royal family including the Emperor himself may be taken. Generally speaking, each change of dynasty accompanies a major change in land ownership. At the end of the last dynasty Qing, many people got the land during the revolution. However, many of those beneficiaries of the revolution, who are the so-called nationalists, once they got the land, became anti-revolutionaries and started to slaughter the communists, of course, lost and went to Taiwan eventually. Today, it is common knowledge that private land ownership is bad for industrialization.

He didn’t give the lands to the farmers. He stole the land from landlords, mostly warlords actually and their officers. Then the government proceed to lease the land to farmers. The farmers don’t own the land or at least most don’t. Though there has been some land reforms in the past could decades, land reform seems to mostly have turned stagnant.

Your thoughts about Chairman Mao Zedong in 10:25 resonate in my ears. I have heard that what prompted the vast majority of Chinese people to love their new leader was that prior to Mao extreme poverty was pervasive all throughout China, and when Chairman Mao came along, he initiated reforms that lifted them up out of poverty. Karl Marx's writings on Communism offered a positive solution to the blatant poverty in China that was prevalent all throughout China in the early 20th century. The common people pushed the Communist ideology under Chairman Mao. Rewi Alley once remarked about the Chinese people: "If you can't feel for these people, you can't feel anything for the world."

As for the "Cultural Revolution" waged by Chairman Mao, yes, it led to many deaths, but it brought China out of the "Middle-Ages" where people were still practising superstitious practices by and large, and which had stymied the nation's growth.

This grandpa looks so pure and healthy. You were lost in translation. The grandpa was a peasant with no land, working for landlords who own all the land. Mao redistributed land to every peasant and made them owner of the country, not slaves of landlords. Mao to these people are god-like. Vast majority of the poor, and even some landlords, loved and still love Mao. Those who hate and fear Mao were the very small number of landlords and the global imperialists who have been so scared of Mao and his thoughts that will eventually wake up people all over the world to remove their undeserved privileges. Mao is the greatest strategist and politician in human history, no exaggeration!
