There's a pretty big misplay @ 20:26 - When Dan casts "Animate Dead" and targets the Karmic Guide, this is a legal target as protection does not work in the graveyard. The issue is that once Karmic Guide enters the battlefield, it gains protection from black. Being that animate dead is a black enchant, it would immediately fall off from the creature, causing him to sacrific Karmic guide rather than it stick around.
@@TabletopJocks Yes, it still gets the ETB because in order for the protection to be enabled, the creature does have to enter. So he would have gotten the trigger to return a creature to the battlefield but Karmic Guide should have been sacrificed that turn as well.
@@SpaceAznZen you choose sequential triggers. Animate dead karmic, resurrect mikeus, animate dead drops off, karmic dies, karmic returns with 1\1, karmic etb resurrects balista (should have been triskellion for win) not giant misplay, ballista would just be out 1 turn earlier

He had Mikaeus, the Unhallowed out that gives all non-humans +1/+1 so the Ballista doesnt die when he removes its counter. Thats why he needed somehting that lets him continuously sacc a creature. Awesome episode!
