FIRST PHASE OF TANZANIA'S STANDARD GAUGE RAILWAY READYING FOR COMMISSIONING

- Tanzania is readying to commission its first phase of the Electricity powered standard gauge railway.
Currently the 240 km phase from the commercial capital Dar es salaam to Morogoro is being tested ahead of commissioning.
Government of Tanzania intends to construct the SGR from Dar es salaam to the port city of Mwanza which is linked to Uganda through Luzira port.

I have many African infrastructure channels on my TH-cam and in every railroad project i have seen over the last 5 years i have had issues from what i can see in videos, and many of them have been major issues. The latest being Nigeria rebuilding and extending its meter gauge, to Ethiopia and Kenya's new rail lines not being attached and not building tunnels onto the Saudi Peninsula and in my opinion no great central planning. Funny thing is if you asked me my opinion one potential rail projects i would have never though Tanzania would be one on the first nations to be building a network let alone a network with so much ambition, and one that at face value looks like it has been pretty well thought out. I wish there was more information though as there are only small news clips. Hopefully this is a successful project because one of these projects is going to be successful enough for others to see potential in investments in rail on the continents and the whole continent can be developed because in my opinion it will be railways that will profit Africa far more than roads as is the case with any nation that builds its network right!!!
Hopefully East African federation is pushing something big. This might unlock kampala, kigali, etc 🙏🙏

Africa needs to do a better job promoting itself - look at China when a major project is proposed and it is a definite go from the time it is building to its completion day it is heavily covered so others know about it and in Africa you get a few reports and that's it.
