I mean, what can I say, this version looks awesome and as always your editing style is superb! Foundry must be on cloud nine to have you! Thanks and looking forward to more demos 👍
I recall working on FAT with you a long time ago (A show code from the dark depths of my brain) I wonder how the barkery would handle 200+ UDIMs on some of the heavy hero assets :O
Essentially it's Substance Baker which is with Extension Pack brought into Mari with Baker. I see foundry is slowly tearing Extension Pack and integrated it into Mari which is a good thing. There is only one thing with Baker in Mari 7.0; can you choose a GPU to which to use to bake ? I love the option of saving favorite nodes. The improvements are good it's just a bit sad that Foundry copying from Houdini I would have rather seen them implement more from EP. Extension Pack is now in Mari 7.0 ? The Backup options are great as well, then again if I'm correctly didn't a former Mari developer from Weta come back to the Mari team and help with the developments of Mari ? If so that is why we are seeing these improvements. Backing up like baker are two things that in my opinion are great additions; it opens many possibilities.
It is Mari baker now, as it uses Mari own GPU baking. The ext-pack substance baker uses painters baker. About choosing GPU, There should be multiple GPU support for baking according to Foundry, Im not sure how it works as I only have one GPU. No Extension pack is still EXT pack. We now see just supported right out from the start. Usually, there is a lag between the Mari release and full ext pack support as Jens from EXT pack usually needs a bit of time to update any changes, something he could do ahead of time this time around. I'm not sure about the ins and outs of the backup system and how it was developed. According to the release notes it said it was developed in collaboration with Weta. From what I understand Weta still has its own Mari code base and probably has a slightly different Mari version than the commercial shipped by Foundry. That's just my suspicion so don't quote me on that.
@tatoon9810 only TH-cam and gnomon. The new series will be for beginners on youtube. Im still going through the basics and will soon start to build up to more project based methods
No it`s not, that's the problem. I don't want to buy Marmoset just for baking, but it's still the only software where you can manually edit the cage for each bake group in realtime. Any other program without this feature simply doesn't make sense, no matter how fast it bakes.@@MeshmenStudio
Thanks Indeed they wait was long but well worth it. Im looking forward to see what other possibilities the bake engine will bring to the table. I have a number of ideas for possible workflows involving baking that I will pitch to foundry when the first build is released
@@MeshmenStudio Sure looking forward to it and though i am coming from a composting background but wanted to thank u for your amazing tutorials too learned a lot from them. 😇
the new Bakery is insane fast!
Its very promising For the future indeed

The new baking stuff looks great! And noodle severing 👀
I love it!

Ohh FAT brings back memories. I tried 170 udim and it worked great. I found a bug with a 800 udim asset that foundry is looking at as we speak

Node graph updates resemble houdini's node workflow
Yeah , i think houdini probably have one of the best node graphs around :)
Bakery is crazyyyyy... finally
Its def a step in the right direction!
Thicc update. Love it!
Indeed a solid new update
I love mari this what I am looking for thanks Mari
Foundry will be happy to hear
Nice? more video please!
More to come!
LOL I was watching that GNOMON Tuto yesterday
Cheers
Do you have other Tutos apart from YT? Gnomon one was a bit hard for me scince I am a beginer in MARI.
@tatoon9810 only TH-cam and gnomon. The new series will be for beginners on youtube. Im still going through the basics and will soon start to build up to more project based methods
@@MeshmenStudio Thank you very much will look forward for your upcoming videos
@tatoon9810 michael wilde on you tube has good tutorials
Shame the Bakery can't run on GTX 980ti. Guess time to upgrade 😊
Yeah unfortunately, but using mari with a more recent card will also make other things more snappy
Marmoset baker is the best atm.
Awesome !
