HOLY MOLY! 5K Views?! Seriously though thanks so much for all the support on this video! It's a subject I absolutely love talking about and have been so glad seeing others enjoy my little video talking about just a few highlights of this part of our childhoods! The past couple weeks I've been enjoying reading every one of your personal stories and what used to scare you! I will be making a follow up video to this within the month so stay tuned for more scary experiences and stories! Once again thank you so much for the support, more to come!
Childhood fears can unexpectedly resurface, triggering memories of spooky videos and commercials that lingered long after. It's fascinating how these experiences shape our nostalgia and influence our perception of entertainment.
i think a screamer is when a scary face pops up in a video but a jumpscare is more of a videogame term, and as scary games became more popular we adopted the latter more into our speech
I remember this one like really stupid video about steven universe that scared the shit out of me as a kid. Basically it is was one of those lost episode creepypastas and the plot of it was that steven got cancer and died then the gems killed themselves and then steven ends up.... becoming sans from undertale? Looking back now that video was fucking hillarious but at the time it made me never want to watch another episode of steven universe ever again.
Okay, but I bet you didn't know that in Garfield’s scary scavenger hunt, you can find Lyman, Jon’s roommate and original owner of Odie who randomly disappeared from the comics, chained up in Jon’s basement, and later on his severed head in the oven
There was this video I remembered watching as a kid which freaked me out really bad. During one point in my childhood I was obsessed with hidden mickey/disney subliminal videos and near the end of the video, I was struggling to find the hidden mickey because unlike the previous hidden mickey photos, it wasn't a shot from a movie, I believe it was just a photo of a city. A red circle appeared pointing to where the suposed hidden mickey was. I got up and close to try and see the mickey and then I was jumpscared by I think samara from the grudge mixed in with loud screaming. I remember the image blinking.
Oh my gosh that totally unlocked some memories for me haha. I remember watching videos like that all the time! I always felt a little unnerved watching them because it felt like something I wasn’t supposed to see haha. But if I ever saw one like that it totally would’ve freaked me out.
Great video! Big nostalgia right out the gate, and it feels like I sat down with a friend for one of those one sided convo’s where you just listen while the homie goes off and you’re both having a good time. The vibe is immaculate and I hope this blows up 🙌🏼
what is ingrained in my mind was like.. this infaaamous agario fake link (agorio i think) that would take you to a rapidly flashing pic of jeff the killer and it played a super loud screamer 😭😭 i remember it scared me so bad i kicked my wall and dislocated my knee
My cousin is who showed me jumpscares for the first time, and this continued for so long that I grew nervous any time he wanted to "show me a video" because like 8 out of 10 times it'd be a jumpscare. There's actually a jumpscare video he showed me that I'm pretty sure is lost to time now sadly, although I'd love to see it again. Although of course I'd come across my own screamer videos without meaning to, I remember seeing "the duck song 18+" which ended with the duck getting shot by the man, it scared me so bad because I had never seen gun violence up until that point and I didn't know the gunshot would be so loud lmao. Nowadays I love watching horror stuff, but I definitely was exposed to it far too early haha
I remember me and my grandma watched this one TV show, where they would show 3 stories and one or two of them were fake and didnt "actually happen", and the audience had to guess. And there was this one story in it about a girl that was mean to people, so her face got messed up and I almost screamed when I saw it. SOme other things I was afraid of are Momo, Koraline, and Cloudy with a chance of meatballs, as stupid as it sounds.
It's wild that I had nearly the exact same experience at about the same age with a CoD Zombies video about seeing Samantha's ghost on the map Shangri-La. I've looked and haven't been able to find it again, but I remember tossing the kindle fire I was watching the video on across the room like a damn frisbee. Thankfully it landed on a bean bag lmao.
I remember distinctly a video called purple guy versus Jeff the killer or something like that, And it was a Garry's mod or sfm type video, very little actual animation and a lot of just poses screenshotted with text overlaid for dialogue type thing. And within the first like 30 second intro to the video, there was a screamer jumpscare of the Jeff the killer image. I was watching it on the bus on my way to school and I remember that it genuinely made me not want anything to do with five nights at Freddy's anymore for a solid 2 weeks or so, but not creepypasta fsr.
I just spent a bit of time searching for it, And I can't find it. I thought I found it with cartoon death battles but no. I Don't remember any distinct intro or anything unless I skipped into the video, there was very little sound too.
You know I remember watching so many videos with similar editing growing up. They always felt so weird to watch since it was just a slideshow essentially. I hope you find it though! I’d totally give it a watch for sure.
@@swayjam8309 I'm thinking that it may have been deleted, since I remember it being pretty popular with like 50k views. It's a shame but also it really scared me as a kid so I don't think I'd be able to watch it anyway 😭
My brothers and I used to play the Garfield game all the time, I remember being scared by the zombie sitting in one of the rooms lol. I remember being jumpscared by a Disney game, it was a point and click game for the Haunted Mansion. In one of the rooms, you had to look under a bed and there was a note you had to keep clicking on and it would get smaller and smaller, telling you to get closer to the screen. I don’t remember what exactly the jumpscare was because I flew out of the chair and ran directly into the living room to bury my face in the couch lol. Been wary of the internet ever since
Does anyone remember a TH-cam parody of the duck song where the duck gets run over by a car forwards and backwards and slowly gets more stretched while having a blood puddle? I distinctly remember having that memory of that and getting traumatized by that video as a child but i can't find any TH-cam video that's like it. It was a parody of episode 2 with that woman running the store i think.
Man, I could recall a lot of videos, games and such that scared me a lot when I was a kid. I remember falling for the maze video, my parents laughed at me for it lol One I can remember involved the tellytubbies (which I was obsessed with as a child), the worst part was it was my mom who showed the video to me by accident in hopes of finding an episode on YT. There's definitely more videos I've seen that scared me a lot, but my memory's fuzzy on them now. Funnily enough with games, I ALSO played that Garfield haunted house game, but I swear I played some way more fucked up version of it or something, cos I remember seeing some really disturbing stuff in it. "Can your pet" was another game that spooked me to the point where I stopped using the computer for the day haha
That’s so interesting! I honestly don’t remember too much from the Garfield game other than that one jumpscare before I turned it off haha. I completely forgot about Can your pet! I remember watching lots of TH-camrs play that.
@@swayjam8309 I remember after playing Can your pet I saw Markiplier play it a week or so later and being upset by it, like the game came back to haunt me aha
I remember getting dragged into the Cupcakes MLP creepypasta videos as a kid, as well as the Luna Game videos. It was one of those things that would keep my 9 year old self up at night, but I was unable to stop looking them up.
I remember finding happy tree friends as a 9 year old not knowing what it was and thinking oh this looks cute and than seeing the animals getting killed and finding cupcakes hd when I was 14 which is a gorey mlp video where pinkie pie kills rainbow dash in very disgusting ways like chainsawing her wings off and cutting her cutie mark off and cutting her belly out and taking her insides out. Thanks to those animations i don't really trust cute looking videos that are animated anymore
I relate to the Guys night thing so much. We wouldn't watch scary videos but every so often I'd invite my friends for a sleepover and watch horror movies. I still love horror, but as a kid I reacted differently to it and it was just so much fun to hang out with friends, stuff our faces with junk food and scream like little girls at any bad jumpscare we'd see on screen. Good times. (Also what's the game you're playing in the background?)
Wow! Yep that pretty much sounds like what my friends and I would do haha, definitely good times. Also the three games I played were on Roblox (in order) Bombline The Breakout Natural Disaster Survival
I used to share scary videos with my friends in middle school too lol! Dining room or there is nothing and Russian sleep experiment scared me the most haha. This video feels like talking with a friend it's great 😁
I remember my dad being sent a screamer video by his friend via email and he opened it on our family computer while we where all in the room we all jumped I think I was 9 at the time never forgot the feeling I think the video was called creepy peeping Tom. Great video subscribed 😊
It’s not that I thought it was a bad movie at all. It’s more so the fact that my dad built it up to be this super scary movie growing up and that it didn’t scare me at all just disappointed me a bit. But I respect those who like it, the acting, effects, and everything is still very well done. Just not scary to me as I was hoping.

THE DAMN DUCK SONG I TELL YOU WHEN I WAS YOUNGER I WAS SO AFRAID THAT THE DUCK WAS GOING TO GET SHOT OR SOMETHING
Childhood fears can unexpectedly resurface, triggering memories of spooky videos and commercials that lingered long after. It's fascinating how these experiences shape our nostalgia and influence our perception of entertainment.
Back in my days, jumpscares were called “screamers” or “scary pop ups”.
Ok grandpa, let's get you to bed.

Was there a video for that?? I had no idea I always just saw the image which I thought was hilarious at the time lol

Honestly?? That’s so crazy they just did that in a Garfield game. Early 2000’s internet flash games did not care haha
