My ancestor is upper class samurai of the Tsugaru clan and part of the daimyō's family. I visited Hirosaki Castle long time ago. It's so beautiful. part of the my ancestor's Castle.

Visiting japan is on my bucket list! Most of our travel is in the US although we have spent a lot of time in the Philippines.

@David Jones oh cool! Say hello to her for me. One day I'll visit the Philippines again and hike every mountain there 😆

@@sunkissedmary We watch a lot or travel videos and when we saw yours she asked, is she a Filipina? I told her that I did not know but I thought so because I saw some communication in Tagalog.
When I first visited her in the PH, one thing that I wanted to do was to hike up to the inviting mountains surrounding the valley where her home is among the rice paddies. The question I received was, Why??!! No one has ever gone up there. Well, I was determined to do it so after the word got out that I was taking that hike (the mountain was maybe 2-3,000 feet) and soon about 20-25 relatives (mostly youngsters) decided they wanted to go also. Well, that was quite an experience and it is talked about to this day (that was about 11 years ago). A very beautiful view at the top and we even left a marker there to indicate where we had traveled (it can be seen from most areas in the valley).
Almost everywhere I went, I hiked and many times people would say why are you walking when you could just ride one of the numerous Jeepneys. But if I did that, I would not have had the experiences that I did. Love visiting there (last time in 2019) and look forward to going back again soon (this was in Quirino province)!
Sorry for the very long post!!

@David Jones Wow, I never been there! That is a beautiful place. I'm glad you hiked that mountain. Filipinos love to go out and hang out. Did they bring a lot of food 😆 We are known for that as well. That is a beautiful hiking story you can share with everyone! Man, I miss the Philippines. It's been 10 years since I left.

Is it just me or does that symbol on the yellow helmet of the bird resemble the Nazi Swastika? Wonder what that is about?

Lmao, I had to re-watch it to see what you are talking about. I did not even noticed it before lol

@@sunkissedmary Yes, I am a huge history buff and that symbol just jumped out at me. I would be curious to find out the origins of it. I am pretty certain it is not reflective of Nazi Germany!
