So many people who no very little about PHEV's and EV's say to me "have you ever driven away whilst it is still plugged in" they don't realise it won't let you, perhaps you could show that in one of your reviews assuming you haven't already and I missed it. Great video.

That’s a good idea, and warrants a separate video, maybe 5 myths - thank you Keith

Agreed, a PHEV is a brilliant stepping stone to a BEV. Hopefully people realise they spend more time in pure electric mode than they expect and have more confidence in a BEV as a result.
There is a decent sidewall to wheel ratio on those tyres too. That must help with the ride quality too.
A very enjoyable review as always

Thank you, Alan - really glad you liked it! Hybrid’s are the best of both, and we agree about the ride quality! All that XCeed needs now is the same interior as the Sorento 😍 *A

The best looking car on the market.

It’s an impressive looking vehicle, just needs the latest interior now, thank you David

Another great review. I see plenty of these cars in Moscow and it seems that Russia tends to buy hybrids over electric cars. I don’t think Russia has the infrastructure.
I love the overall appearance of this vehicle, and I love the interior, saying that though the newer Kia’s are a big step forward.
Oh, it’s amazing on fuel if that’s the Mpg you are getting Ben!!
    Thank you guys.
    Matt

Thank you Matt, that makes sense, plus it’s such a massive country too, hybrid seems far more viable, it’s a rather impressive look with tech to match.

Whoops. Sorry, But incorrect info. PHEV is NOT turbo it is naturally aspirated Atkinson cycle which is why is so slow, but economic. (Just like Mazda)
The petrol engine Xceed is turbo.

Ah yes it’s the new Sorento phev that uses a turbo charged variant, thank you Colin

Hi, I have a KIA CEED PHEV 2022. I'm very disappointed how the hybrid system works. If it low temperature outside (below 10 C) then the petrol engine always starts if the so if im driving under 10km it never runs purly on electricity.
My advise, dont buy a KIA

Nice review ! Can you pre-heat the car during charging ? Via the UVO app maybe ?

Watch out Audi. You have been equaled.
Your mpg computer is almost definitely broke though. No way Ben recorded either 145 or 80 mpg.
Probably just me, but am really getting cheesed off with high wide belt lines and shallower side glass.
My 1993 Toyota Camry had a high waistline but I could still see the ends and park it.

I know, I’m amazed at these hybrid systems, I’m losing my touch at caning fuel - that’s the thing about modern cars high lines seem to be the trend, there is more glass on the Golf and mind you more safety almost dictates some of that - thank you Sean

Of course it will achieve 145mpg. It may use the engine for 205 of the journey, and the electric for the rest of it. As therefore, as a result, youre reducing the amount of petrol youve used for the overall journey length. The higher doors are all because of side impact protection. Glass isnt great, so they increase the door height to compensate :)
