Hi, Just a quick note, I made a mistake at 7:05. When Pizza shop runs a discount for 15%, I should have multiplied the number by 0.85 and not 0.15. Sorry for this!
Amazing content and delivering. You have made every concept simple to understand. Thank you for such great explanations. Keep posting insightful videos like this, they are really helpful.
i looked many videos but found this is the best. what an explaination, clear concept, no confusion, short notes are very valuable, and i also appreciate your preffered techniques. thankyou for such amazing and valuable content video
man if 15percent discount given on each pizza then while calculating the revenue u need to multiply with 0.85 not 0.15. it gave me so much trouble. but overall great job with the tutorial. learnt a lot
Yeah sorry about that. I realized my mistake after I published the video. Anyways I will pin a comment, so that no one else gets confused. Thanks for watching!
Hi, no i think you might have referred to a different year . In the video we are using the year 2022 and 1st Jan 2022 is showing as 7, which is correct because it was a Saturday. Hope this helps!
Hi, Sorry for the delayed response. Yes adding or subtracting days is very simple. You dont have to use any inbuilt functions. Just write "PizzaSales[Date] + 1" or "PizzaSales[Date] -1". This new column will add or subtract 1 day from the original date column. Change that 1 to any number you like. Hope this helps!
Hi, yes this is a good starting point for you. Once you understand how to structure the dax using this video, you can then move on to creating more complex logics by combining what you learned.
Please Correct me if I am wrong, but shouldn't the Function at 7:05 be RevDiscounted = SUMX(PizzaSales, ((PizzaSales[Sales] * PizzaSales[Price_USD])*.85)). Since the store ran a 15% discount so the pirce should be 85% of its initial price. Sorry I have not gone through the entire video at this point, but this doubt came to mind as soon as I saw this.
Fantastic...best DAX explanation ever. Step by step. No waffle. No confusion. Screenshotted the fax categories very early on in the video. Thanks so much.
its good dax video but its would be very helpful if u explain the written dax and functionalty of each function used in it TQ... in measure you worte sumx function, for a beginner we dont know what is the use of Sumx..... how can one understand the total dax write ... just shared my thoughts... TQ
Hi, Thanks for the feedback. If you check the timeline from 33:00 to 35:30 , you will find a detailed explanation of what is sumx and why do we use it. Hope this helps!
You will definitely understand DAX to a different level after watching this video, Surprisingly i started writing complex DAX formula, Bro can you please make some videos on scenario based interview questions with your explanation.
Until 29 minutes of video, it was working fine, But whenvideo is at 29mins + some seconds it is showing blurred video, its foggy, its not showing the screen of the powerbi video, Why like that. After refeshing the browser, the youtube window went into default mode, it is clearly visible now. I got it, When I the youtube video in full screen mode its blurry, I figured it out that when the youtube video is in default view then it is clear. Thanks
Hi, trust me, no one can memorize all of them at the first go. Use this video as a reference guide. After using these a couple of times, you will automatically know which dax to use in which scenario.
I was trying to create a profit % for each item, based on date slicer, accross different date ranges like profit % for each item for current week, last week, current month, last month, YTD and custom date range from date slicer. Was unable to do. Please make a video for this.
Hi! How did you merge the two tables of sem1 score and sem 2 score, when im trying, there are 48 rows instead of 12, im guessing the similar subjects rows are getting repeated in the merged table
Hi, I think you must have skipped a step. In the video we are merging 2 columns within the same table and then finally using that merged column to utilize RELATEDTABLE to get required information from 2nd table.
Yes, definitely! Check out below link for understanding the broad outline suggested by Microsoft. Then you can use free resources on TH-cam or go for any paid course on Udemy etc.. for your preparation. learn.microsoft.com/en-us/shows/exam-readiness-zone/preparing-for-pl-300-prepare-the-data

Hey Sajit Simon...thanks for this top tutorial on Power BI DaX. I am not sure if I am right but at 45:51 onwards you feed the argument for Column 4 that: IF(PizzaSales[Sales] >=10..... Shouldn't it be either "IF(PizzaSales[Price_USD]>=10" OR "IF(PizzaSales[Sales]>=100" ?
Hi, I don't know whether I understood your question or not, but the main intent of this was to just show how to use IF along with AND, &&, OR, ||. So consider this as a blueprint with which you can create your own personal logic. Let me know if you meant to ask something else!
@@pivotalstats So at 45:46 you start explaining to us about the mashup with IF with AND, OR, && logics. Here for the example you use IF(PizzaSales[Sales] >=10... so 10 is too low a number for [Sales] so I was wondering.... were you actually referring to the [Price_USD]? Shouldn't it be "IF(PizzaSales[Price_USD]>=10. Or if it was [Sales] that you were actually referring to then shouldn't it be "IF(PizzaSales[Sales]>=100"? Hope you got my question? 🙂

Thanks! To get the 2nd largest, you can use a combination of Var, Max & Calculate function. Something like below: SecLarg = var larg = MAX(PizzaSales[Sales]) RETURN CALCULATE(MAX(PizzaSales[Sales]),PizzaSales[Sales] < larg)
Hi, Just a quick note, I made a mistake at 7:05. When Pizza shop runs a discount for 15%, I should have multiplied the number by 0.85 and not 0.15. Sorry for this!

RETURN
CALCULATE(MAX(PizzaSales[Sales]),PizzaSales[Sales] < larg)
