    Nice video buddy, new subscriber. What wattage heatstrips did you use please, as I want to build a version for my baby boas due in few months? Also did you remove the middle diving section from the wardrobe and does this effect the stability?
    Thanks again for sharing mate.
    SM.

      Siônmarc Simpson hey man thank you for subscribing! I just use heat maps, not strips. The stability of the rack is great!

    Hey Lewis, I love the video, great job!
    I have a question - What temperature do the heat strips have to be for Ball Pythons? I am getting relatively interested in getting a Ball Python and I'm having a difficult time finding the answer to this question.
    Anyway, I just subscribed and would love to see a video of you showing your collection! Your snakes look so beautiful!

    • @Lewisffitch
      @Lewisffitch  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thank you very much for commenting and subscribing to my channel. I will be doing a full collection video tonight. Heating should be around 85-90F on the hot spot and about 80-85 on the cold :)

      Lewisffitch Hey, you're very welcome! I'm looking forward on seeing your collection! It looks pretty cool. Anyway, thank you so much for the heating information! I'm hoping to get a snake in a couple of months when I have a good set up. 😃🐍

    Hey did you work out how big those tubs were?

    • @Lewisffitch
      @Lewisffitch  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I found the measurements of the tubs, essentially doubled the width and checked the height so that I could fit two tubs on a row.

    Where does the thermostat probe in a rack system?

    • @Lewisffitch
      @Lewisffitch  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a probe on every two levels, just drilled in a hole in the back for it to feed through into the tubs. Hope it makes sense, cheers

    Question. Why not just plug a two way or four way block into the thermostat? Why wire two heat mats and one plug?

    • @Lewisffitch
      @Lewisffitch  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because doing that will overload the thermostat and cause a fire

    • @ZoltanHercules
      @ZoltanHercules 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Really? Even if everything’s within wattage? Suppose that make sense wiring the one plug, sharing the amperage of the fuse etc. Thanks for the answer.

  • @ashandjuls

  • @caesar5555

    Its all wood. Isnt it a fire hazard?

    • @6strings735
      @6strings735 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No. If the heat tape could get so hot that it could ignite particle board, then the snake will have died already and the plastic tub would have melted. Igniting wood takes far higher temps than a heat pad for reptiles can achieve during usage as he has done. Nevertheless, always use a temperature controller to keep temps in the proper range for the animal. (Look up ignition temps for wood, cardboard, paper - you will be surprised.)
