This is my synthesis (along with Palmer et. al, 1992) for future reference: *Falling* : supinate forearms, extend elbows, abduct shoulders (or easier put, rotate arms outward) → fall on bent elbows → turn head to one side. > Why fall on bent elbows? Distribute force better, lessens FOOSH injuries. From *prone position* , gather the crutches to either side. Do Prone Movers to adjust oneself to the crutches. *Assume hand-knee pos'n* from prone by placing arms near armpit → Prone Push-Ups → tuck chin, align hips over knees. *Assume kneeling pos'n* with crutches at either side: grasp handpiece of crutch c FA supinated → place crutch semivertical by FA pronation → place crutch against SH Do the same on the other crutch. Push up → place crutch by side & under arms. Always do them within the mat.
