  • Among the many tourist attractions in the hill station of Mahabaleshwar, there are several centuries old temples too. Two of them are located in old Mahabaleshwar. Namely Mahabaleshwar Temple which is a Jyotirlinga and Panch Ganga. It is said that a visit to Mahabaleshwar Temple equals the significance of visiting 12 Jyotir Ling temples. Both are close to each other and at a walkable distance.
We could also witness a Sunset at the most popular Sunset point namely Mumbai Point. Hundreds of tourists throng this place to witness the spectacle of a Sunset. While Mahabaleshwar Temple is the only temple in the world to have the Shiv Ling in the form of a Rudrakash, the Panch Ganga temple has a very old religious history for its existence. This temple is built at the confluence of rivers Krishna, Koyna, Venna, Savitri and Gayatri. It was built by a Yadava king in the 13th century. The water from all the 5 rivers flow into the temple through a cow's mouth or face. This water is also a source of drinking water for the locals.
