As an OU I couldn't agree more in that TX is never happy and pain in the a$$. I'll miss bedlam the most. I'm very happy the big12 is still here. I do miss the old days of college ball. The idea that these west coast teams are in the big10 and ACC is crazy. Good luck you guys!

Pete.... you nailed it. When Texas got in the Big 12, that's the first time in my lifetime UT got the national recognition I felt they deserved. Being the biggest brand in the state of Texas. They've won multiple national titles and playing Nebraska, OU, and A&M was national must see. Now, they and OU are building someone else's house. And they're not even going to a conference that academically makes sense. They're just ESPN property and it stinks to me.

The SEC remembers when they played UT and OU. The wins the losses. UT and OU will get Smacked Around forma bit until they get their footing. But, Sark will do a Great Job getting them on a consistent path. Venabells will do the same @ OU. But, the SEC will knock them around to TEST their Metal.

Some creative student at Tech parodied aTm's "Gig 'em" catchphrase by making t-shirts that said "Vick 'em" with a picture of Michael Vick choking aTm's dog mascot. Aggie fans were very butthurt about that for some reason...
Tech belongs in the 2nd tier. The last 3 HC’s and the current one have all been in the tournament. Tubby in 2016, Beard 2018-2021 (minus Covid year), Adams sweet 16, then McCasland. The investment into facilities. The fan support. Etc.

I’ll miss OU more. Wished they stayed but I get it. Texas was the worst. They’re so hyped now. I don’t see better than 7-8 wins, parallel to my feelings about Utah coming to the Big XII. Overhyped. One more thing. Because I do not understand this. With this assumed break off and CFP unequal revenue distribution. With a salary cap era looming. Shouldn't every school that willing to pay regardless of conference affiliation be considered top their and get equal playoff distribution? If Wazzou, Boise State, Brown, or Tulane is willing to pay 22 million or more. Or, all Big 12 and ACC schools are. How can they be seen as second tier and shorted revenue? I'm not understanding how those two conferences are being allowed to do what they are doing now that a money standard is being implemented.

@heartlandcollegesports Basically... shouldn't every school, regardless of conference willing to pay students to the salary cap, be viewed as equal to the Big 10 and SEC schools? And since CFP payouts are from the collective. Shouldn't every school paying students on the tip level be compensated on the top level? Saying because a school isn't in those 2 conferences but pays like they are should be compensated on a lower tier is wrong. The conference tv deals are one thing. But the CFP payouts are a whole different thing. In my opinion.

They will be battle tested by playing an SEC schedule. Playing a B12 schedule and beating inferior opponents doesn't help when you play a team with equal or more talent.

Neither. The two BCS championship winners have gone 0-5 in playoffs hurting the conference money. The SEC and Big Ten BCS winners have won playoffs giving them more money.

As a hardcore Oklahoma State fan living in Oklahoma surrounded by sooner fans I've never been happier and excited for the the future of the Big 12
I hope a couple of Big 12 teams can emerge and develop into a couple power houses. I have no idea which team I will back. I was a Texas fan for years, but , I guess I have more conference loyalty than team loyalty. I am now shopping around for another Big 12 team. I like K-State, Texas Tech, Texas Christian, Okie State and Baylor. So, who knows.......I'll pick somebody soon.
Wvu is going surprise a lot people, especially if they beat Penn St wich i believe they will.

If you was Oklahoma and you had a chance to join a different conference where you had teams like Tennessee Alabama South Carolina coming to Norman instead of Texas tech Iowa State or West Virginia what would you do?

As a Houston a fan, this is such a stupid argument- It's exhausting having to waste my breath and having to explain to folks like yourself that the new additions are and always will be a G5 or anything less than a P5. You have no respect and acknowledge, and thats fine though know this- Houston, Cincy, UCF, and BYU (I'm including BYU in the conversation unless you acknowledge them as a Power Independent/P5) are a P5 and that status has been appointed to us by the powers of conference and the members itself. If you want to treat us as our past and that is all we ever will be, that's fine too. When we come knocking on your door for the both of us to be "tested" and you fail, you will need to address why you lost to a "Group of 5" that is a Power 5 in the Big 12.
There is a reason why the 3 of us are in the Power conference: we can compete at the highest level if given the opportunity to if the other schools decide not to gatekeep and play fair.
