All I do know is in my lifetime of 67 years caramel hasn't been salty until about 1-2 years ago. Then when buying a bar of caramel chocolate it was salted, couldn't buy any without. Have noticed a shift back to normal lately presumably because good taste prevailed. Any Cadbury's marketers reading, give the consumers choice, that's all I ask
