  • “Some years back I “accidentally” fell in love with Malta. Since then, I have returned to Malta five times. Although I have visited and stayed various places all over Malta and Gozo, Mellieha main street became one of my most often visited shopping and eating-out areas.”

I am addicted to travelling. I think I have been so since I was very little. Here, I decided to start up yet another TH-cam channel of mine (third one!). I intend to use this little channel as my own travel diary, some sort of record of my personal journey. (29/04/2023)

Thank you for your lovely video of a walk down Mellieha main street and the fantastic church and area. I lived in this lovely village for 3 years, a very special happy time for me, I miss it very much, so it was nice to see your video, took me on a trip down Memory Lane. I've been back many times for holidays, staying in the Maritim Hotel you showed, great times. I know what you mean about the narrow pavements, but it's all part of the charm of that unique place. Thank you again for sharing your experience.

It is definitely a "town" to me, but they say it's a village. Strange. Thank you for commenting.

Yes, I agree it's a town really, but my Maltese friends always called it a village, but either way, it's a lovely unique place, well worth a visit.

This particular local high street can be very busy and lively during the summer. Thank you for commenting.

What the name of the last hotel in the last corner?

What do you mean "the last corner"? Any way, near Adenau bus stop, one of the largest in the area is "Maritim Antonine Hotel & Spa Malta".

As a Dane we are privileged and we planned and built a now fully Danish Owned, Vacation Town by the beach in Mellieha, in the seventies! Danish, Workers Unions became asked for a Cooperation during the Maltese Independence, for a building of this Park for its Members. We also have our own Airline, "Atlantic Airways", from Cph. to Malta and three busses takes passengers to the Park, when arriving and leaving, once a week. We have Calls in Danish Language in the Airport, when leaving!
A Danish Professor and Architect: Hans Munk Hansen, became asked to find a Place, and then to Plan and Built the Park and during that - also the Set for the Disney "Popeye Movie", which still exist a little from Mellieha!
Actors, Robin Williams and Shelley Duvall lived in the newly built park while filming! We have later expanded the Park with even more houses to a now larger area.
The "Bird Sanctuary" was also built during during this. The actual area was formerly a home to a British Barrack.

During the built it was the largest Maltese workplace and we also have a Tunnel below the road in front, to the Beach!

Why are you, almost of the time, walking on the road with so much free space side walk?
Don't you tell me you think you are a vehicle...

You are such keenly observant. a) In some parts of this high street foot pavement is very narrow, like a few tens of centimetre wide. b) With an action camera and no gimbal you cannot shoot anything too close to the camera because otherwise the "camera shake" becomes intolerably big (you don't see the shake with things in distance). So you have to walk in a way always avoiding anything nearby like walls, houses, posts, fences... Thank you for such an interesting comment.
