i only know my mom’s roti (venezuelan) which has a filling of chicken and potatoes with a shitload of spices and obvi curry (the actual roti is done with wheat flour, water and butter and omg i’m so hungry now 😫)
I made all three everything is good but chicken in coconut milk with curry.....................mmm that is heavenly.........and will go to our regular menu
I tried the roti recipe. Yes, it has an untraditional addition of baking soda. The high amount of baking soda causes a bitter taste. Decrease it by 50%. The roti lacks flavour due to the low amount of salt. Increase the salt by 100%. You can save time by adding the ghee when you're mixing the dough. Unless you have a roti pan cut the balls in half or they won't fit your pan. One optional tip try adding 1 tbsp of garam masala. Enjoy!

Glad she acknowledged that others would see her recipes as wrong, because as an Indo-Trinidadian I would definitely say that channa and aloo dish was completely wrong from the traditional way that we make it. But afro-trinis will always have a different way of making indo-trini food I guess.
Not trying to throw shade but roti and curry was brought to the west Indies by Indian people. This is not how traditional west Indian curry and roti is made. Just saying. Still looks yummy tho.
I'm a Trinidadian. .. glad to see my country here.. but... we don't put green union , coconut milk and chicken broth in our curry here... the coconut milk reduces the true curry flavor.. And the traditional salt fish buljol is not cooked on a stove. Nice recipe tho 😆
