I used to be a Medic on a small Rural Fire Department. On one call, a four Month old baby Girl died in my arms. THAT was 23 Years ago. This and Uvalde has brought back that horrible memory. It's an awful thing for me to say, but if they Convict that Monster, I hope he gets Capitol Punishment!

I don't even live in your country and I'm very emotional about another mass shooting. What this doctor stated about those injuries, and his wife's 30 seconds statement too, says everything Americans need to know about their crazy gun laws. RIP and condolences to all affected.
Canadian here, i feel the same way. This is horrible. I think the 30 second statement is so important, when this can happen in an instant, the argument that more guns will make things safer is a totally farce. I’m so glad they spoke out.

Two things I will never forget this doctor talking about: the horrific sense of these injuries that should never be seen on domestic ground, and how sure this man was the problem is because too young of a man had too powerful on a weapon. Gun control. Gun control. It only happens if the house and senate are overwhelmingly blue.
Domestic ground? But foreign ground is ok. NO. none of this is ok whether it happens to Americans at home or in the wars they wage on other people. It's never ok.
In the course of the six years I worked in paediatric ER and trauma in the US, I saw more gunshot wounds than in a similar number of years working in conflict zones such as Kandahar, Mosul, Somalia, Eastern DRC, and even in S Sudan. The US today is a killing and maiming field for childhood and youth gun death and injury. It is why we moved in order to bring up our children in a safer environment.
I would love to meet this man. Sir, you are so humble. You did what the truly heroic would only do. I can only imagine the pain, and what you all had to witness. My heart goes out to everyone involved. Praying this community finds peace.
The father needs to SHUT UP!! As a former police officer, and also being falsely accused of a potential crime, my attorney told me before being questioned, interrogated, etc. SHUT the Sheol UP!! Do NOT talk to the police, period. Do NOT talk to the media, period. Do NOT talk at all!! You may wish to talk to family members, a close friend, your pastor.......DO NOT DO IT! They can be dragged into court, sworn in, and under oath be questioned, about what you said. EVERYTHING YOU SAY can and WILL be used against you in court, if it comes to that. Just tell the cops you are going to "lawyer up", even when they tell you you are not under arrest, they are just trying to get to the bottom of things, you are just a witness to the crime, the police will LIE to you to make an arrest, close the case and move on to the next one, etc. If they police want to go on a "fishing expedition" and try to bait you while "fishing" for clues, motives, etc., tell them to go fishing with your attorney. There are plenty of videos, here on TH-cam by prosecutors, defense attorneys, and even police officers who will tell you, the police, most of the time in a criminal investigation, are NOT your friend. Lawyer up first and then have them question or talk to you, even so called "innocent talk", with your lawyer present. Even if that attorney is pro bono, or court appointed. Clam up and stay clammed up without your attorney present. That father of the shooter, may think he has nothing to hide, and he will talk himself into a jail cell, and a possible civil law suit by the victims relatives. Just watch and see.
Dr. Baum is a physician, a gentleman and a Mensch. God bless him for being in the right place at the right time. It does give me hope for humanity, in this most precarious of times.

Anyone can have an assault rifle here. He ended up being 22, but either way he had posted tons of threats online months before the shooting and no one did anything. Assault rifles in the US are considered a “right” and excuses are made here that if they’re taken away that criminals will get them anyway. We all know that whatever amount of weapons they could get if banned is minimal. Here literally anyone can open carry guns of all types including guns of war and use them at will. Mass shootings here are extremely common and they’ll continue to be so long as the right allows it.
These things can not happen any where, they can only happen in places like Afghanistan or the USA or primitive places like that, in normal countries murder weapons are not sold like they are ice-creams..

The Parents of those 19 Babies in Uvalde, Texas had to give DNA swabs in order to identify their Babies... the Mass Assault Weapon used, the Military Issue AR-15 had blown the faces off of, and with Many of the Babies, the power of the Military Issue AR-15 had Decapitated them.
We have a system of triage in the field. Green means "walking wounded" and the absolute last to go to the ER, Yellow means they are urgent but not technically "critical", Red means Urgent and needs to be transported first with severe injuries. Black means they are dead and you leave them till all other patients are transported then reassess them.

You are being sarcastic, right ? Thankfully the good guy here was a Doctor. It all happened in 30 seconds. Unless the good guy with a gun was standing next to him when it started it's doubtful he could have done anything to help.
This doctor was interviewed on Monday and he asked a very important question. Why aren't the parents/families of these 17-22 year old mass shooters held accountable for their murderous actions? These men don't live alone, they live with their families. Parents can't claim they had no idea their sons were capable of violence. This Crimo monster's father got him the permit for him to buy the AR 15 he used at the parade. Wasn't that a huge red flag in the father's mind? In 2018 Crimo threatened to kill his family with knives and a sword. His parents called the police but declined to press charges. Why?? How can parents be so self-delusional? There must be parent/family accountability for these mass shootings because adults must see their sons' disturbing behavior and get them to a hospital or call the police immediately, not dig their heads in the sand.

As a United States Army National Guard medic, this mass shooting brought me to tears. We absolutely need stricter gun control laws. This needed to happen years ago. We have to be willing to stand up for what's right, and learn from the past.
I wish the Uvalde police, wearing body armor, carrying assault rifles, had been as brave as this unprotected, unarmed Doctor who just flew into the fray to help others.

The argument we hear after all shootings is that Americans want to own guns so they can defend themselves when confronted by a gunman. How many of the victims were gun owners and how did owning a gun save them in this situation? Even if they were carrying a gun at the time, it did nothing to change the outcome. Americans like to think of themselves as smart but when will you ignorant people understand that the only way to reduce gun deaths is to reduce the availability of guns, and assault weapons in particular. One of the main problems is that every time Congress has a debate about gun control, people like Ted Cruz (and others) are able to block it. Why? Surely if they have taken money from the NRA (and in Ted's case the amount is huge) they have a vested interest so should be blocked from voting? Come on America - join the rest of the civilized world and reduce the availability of guns so that these weekly tragedies can be reduced.

A 5.56 is not a .223, a 5.56 has a heavier round with more powder, and is faster. An AR-15 is not an M16 The AR 15 has been on the civilian market since 1963, that's 59 years ago. And it was never used by the military (other than possibly for development purposes in the early 60s). There are many other rounds and weapons that can do more damage than the .223 AR15 that ha e been on the market. What I am getting at is the demonizing of the AR is rediculous because especially at close range, like most mass shooters are, there are plenty of firearms that will be just as lethal or more so. Dead is still dead. The mass shooting trend did not happen until 1999 with Columbine, half a century after the AR15 was on the civilian market and around 98 years after the first civilian semi auto was on the market in 1911, and there weren't an extended string of mass shooting all those years, so the root of the problem is not the firearms, it's something else. Sure, people like Charles Whitman, the Texas A&M shooter in the 60s killed alot of people with a bolt action rifle, and the 16 year old "I Dont Like Mondays Shooter" Brenda (can't remember her last name) used a pistol, but there was not an extended trend like now, and those weren't even ARs when the AR was on the market the entire time.

Except you aren’t right. It’s a semi-automatic weapon. Most are semi-automatic meaning it only fires one shot when you pull the trigger- but this person is truly sick and I hope they burn in Hell for what they did to those innocent people!

Yesterday I saw a shot of people walking the parade route. The first person that reacted was a little girl about 5 years old. She quickly got the grown ups attention and directed them. We hear horrific stories of survival lead by children in WW2 but the response of a 5year old in peace time is unspeakable.
people should stop attending parades, marathons, concerts basically any area that has a large gathering of people even Walmarts. Unfortunately this will keep happening because sick people have access to guns. :(

I agree with Mrs. Baum--we must change our behavior. But innocent people who want to go to school, work, a movie, the mall, a store, a restaurant, a parade, shouldn't have to avoid doing those things. We must change our behavior by having a RESPONSIBLE government who does something meaningful about gun control legislation (and SCOTUS must not overthrow state laws trying to keep citizens safe from gun violence). We must elect leaders who will put the lives of Americans over the money they get from the gun lobby. I don't care which party you belong to, taking money from the gun lobby while stonewalling ANY gun control legislation is DANGEROUS and we should summarily vote those people OUT OF OFFICE. We need to change our behavior in the VOTING BOOTH and elect leaders who take some responsibility and have some morals and integrity and who will make it safe for Americans to go to parades, go to school, go to work, enjoy a meal at a restaurant, go to a grocery story, go to a music concert. I'm in Tennessee and I won't got to parks any more. We have "open carry" laws and I took my two dogs to a nice park to walk. It was a beautiful spring day, kids were busy sliding down slides, swinging on swings, running around playing and yelling, parents were sitting on benches talking, mothers were pushing babies in strollers, families were picnicing, people were walking their dogs. Enter three men carrying assault rifles. Everyone left (including me and my dogs). I have no idea what these "gentlemen" had in mind (they were not shooting), but no one felt safe. I certainly didn't. These three men ruined a perfectly nice day for many people by showing up with assault rifles. Why? Why does ANYONE who is not a soldier need a weapon of war?

i agree. just once show the bodies. years ago, in my country, everyone was "playing" with fireworks. then the government started showing the injuries caused by fireworks on TV, also the tools used by doctors to "fix" the injuries (saws and power tools to cut bones). also overnight the number of people injured was reduced, because people got scared. I used to be a Medic on a small Rural Fire Department. On one call, a four Month old baby Girl died in my arms. THAT was 23 Years ago. This and Uvalde has brought back that horrible memory.

Two things I will never forget this doctor talking about: the horrific sense of these injuries that should never be seen on domestic ground, and how sure this man was the problem is because too young of a man had too powerful on a weapon. Gun control. Gun control. It only happens if the house and senate are overwhelmingly blue.

In the course of the six years I worked in paediatric ER and trauma in the US, I saw more gunshot wounds than in a similar number of years working in conflict zones such as Kandahar, Mosul, Somalia, Eastern DRC, and even in S Sudan. The US today is a killing and maiming field for childhood and youth gun death and injury. It is why we moved in order to bring up our children in a safer environment.
We are now a third world country thanks to this leftist president and his boss.

The father needs to SHUT UP!! As a former police officer, and also being falsely accused of a potential crime, my attorney told me before being questioned, interrogated, etc. SHUT the Sheol UP!! Do NOT talk to the police, period. Do NOT talk to the media, period. Do NOT talk at all!! You may wish to talk to family members, a close friend, your pastor.......DO NOT DO IT! They can be dragged into court, sworn in, and under oath be questioned, about what you said. EVERYTHING YOU SAY can and WILL be used against you in court, if it comes to that. Just tell the cops you are going to "lawyer up", even when they tell you you are not under arrest, they are just trying to get to the bottom of things, you are just a witness to the crime, the police will LIE to you to make an arrest, close the case and move on to the next one, etc. If they police want to go on a "fishing expedition" and try to bait you while "fishing" for clues, motives, etc., tell them to go fishing with your attorney. There are plenty of videos, here on TH-cam by prosecutors, defense attorneys, and even police officers who will tell you, the police, most of the time in a criminal investigation, are NOT your friend. Lawyer up first and then have them question or talk to you, even so called "innocent talk", with your lawyer present. Even if that attorney is pro bono, or court appointed. Clam up and stay clammed up without your attorney present. That father of the shooter, may think he has nothing to hide, and he will talk himself into a jail cell, and a possible civil law suit by the victims relatives. Just watch and see.
Dr. Baum is a physician, a gentleman and a Mensch. God bless him for being in the right place at the right time. It does give me hope for humanity, in this most precarious of times.

I love how the doctor took control of the interview. He didn’t fall into any traps. He got his point across and message.
Those poor people must’ve been in excruciating pain for him to describe it as “wartime injuries”.
Some of the people the doctor described where cut too pieces, dead, killed on the spot, with massive amounts of blood, so lady we are talking about beyond pain.

Here it is quick and dirty, the US is the only nation in the world where basic human rights are outlined and beyond the pale. One of them being the right to bear arms.

Anyone can have an assault rifle here. He ended up being 22, but either way he had posted tons of threats online months before the shooting and no one did anything. Assault rifles in the US are considered a “right” and excuses are made here that if they’re taken away that criminals will get them anyway. We all know that whatever amount of weapons they could get if banned is minimal. Here literally anyone can open carry guns of all types including guns of war and use them at will. Mass shootings here are extremely common and they’ll continue to be so long as the right allows it.
These things can not happen any where, they can only happen in places like Afghanistan or the USA or primitive places like that, in normal countries murder weapons are not sold like they are ice-creams..

We have a system of triage in the field. Green means "walking wounded" and the absolute last to go to the ER, Yellow means they are urgent but not technically "critical", Red means Urgent and needs to be transported first with severe injuries. Black means they are dead and you leave them till all other patients are transported then reassess them.

This doctor was interviewed on Monday and he asked a very important question. Why aren't the parents/families of these 17-22 year old mass shooters held accountable for their murderous actions? These men don't live alone, they live with their families. Parents can't claim they had no idea their sons were capable of violence. This Crimo monster's father got him the permit for him to buy the AR 15 he used at the parade. Wasn't that a huge red flag in the father's mind? In 2018 Crimo threatened to kill his family with knives and a sword. His parents called the police but declined to press charges. Why?? How can parents be so self-delusional? There must be parent/family accountability for these mass shootings because adults must see their sons' disturbing behavior and get them to a hospital or call the police immediately, not dig their heads in the sand.

The argument we hear after all shootings is that Americans want to own guns so they can defend themselves when confronted by a gunman. How many of the victims were gun owners and how did owning a gun save them in this situation? Even if they were carrying a gun at the time, it did nothing to change the outcome. Americans like to think of themselves as smart but when will you ignorant people understand that the only way to reduce gun deaths is to reduce the availability of guns, and assault weapons in particular. One of the main problems is that every time Congress has a debate about gun control, people like Ted Cruz (and others) are able to block it. Why? Surely if they have taken money from the NRA (and in Ted's case the amount is huge) they have a vested interest so should be blocked from voting?

Any bullet can tumble if designed right. A .223 is not magically a "tumbler", that's a misnomer Frome the Vietnam era.
A 5.56 is not a .223, a 5.56 has a heavier round with more powder, and is faster.
An AR-15 is not an M16
The AR 15 has been on the civilian market since 1963, that's 59 years ago. And it was never used by the military (other than possibly for development purposes in the early 60s). There are many other rounds and weapons that can do more damage than the .223 AR15 that ha e been on the market.
What I am getting at is the demonizing of the AR is rediculous because especially at close range, like most mass shooters are, there are plenty of firearms that will be just as lethal or more so. Dead is still dead. The mass shooting trend did not happen until 1999 with Columbine, half a century after the AR15 was on the civilian market and around 98 years after the first civilian semi auto was on the market in 1911, and there weren't an extended string of mass shooting all those years, so the root of the problem is not the firearms, it's something else. Sure, people like Charles Whitman, the Texas A&M shooter in the 60s killed alot of people with a bolt action rifle, and the 16 year old "I Dont Like Mondays Shooter" Brenda (can't remember her last name) used a pistol, but there was not an extended trend like now, and those weren't even ARs when the AR was on the market the entire time.

Yesterday I saw a shot of people walking the parade route. The first person that reacted was a little girl about 5 years old. She quickly got the grown ups attention and directed them.
We hear horrific stories of survival lead by children in WW2 but the response of a 5year old in peace time is unspeakable.
I was wondering last Friday: Where is it going to happen this time? And the one after this? And we all know it. That's what is sickest.
Now I'm thinking the same after this one. Where would the next one be?
people should stop attending parades, marathons, concerts basically any area that has a large gathering of people even Walmarts. Unfortunately this will keep happening because sick people have access to guns. :(

I agree with Mrs. Baum--we must change our behavior. But innocent people who want to go to school, work, a movie, the mall, a store, a restaurant, a parade, shouldn't have to avoid doing those things. We must change our behavior by having a RESPONSIBLE government who does something meaningful about gun control legislation (and SCOTUS must not overthrow state laws trying to keep citizens safe from gun violence). We must elect leaders who will put the lives of Americans over the money they get from the gun lobby. Enter three men carrying assault rifles. Everyone left (including me and my dogs). I have no idea what these "gentlemen" had in mind (they were not shooting), but no one felt safe. I certainly didn't. These three men ruined a perfectly nice day for many people by showing up with assault rifles. Why? Why does ANYONE who is not a soldier need a weapon of war?

@@matthewkeenan4437 Right so we have had no mass shootings since 1996 when our current gun control came into effect. All the other OECD counties that also have gun control don’t have mass shootings in anywhere the number that the USA does and you conclude the common factor, gun control, is not the answer???
You must really love your gun to put having it ahead of the lives of innocent people. You heard the doctor - many people are now too scared to go out. Is your idea of a good society is where everyone is armed to the teeth and to scared to walk down the street without arms? That’s a war zone not a place to live.

Just to repeat we haven’t had a mass shooting since 1996. Our kids don’t do shooter drills. We don’t live in fear here.
