Its much easier to work with if you hold it under warm water before you stick your fingers in it. Its much easier to work with when its warm. I've used this for over 7 years now.
@@handyvapereviews2.017 Yeah I have really thick wavy Elvis like hair and it works like a dream, I been using it for 2 years now. It costs £3 for a small tub so maybe 4 dollars but you hardly have to use any because it's so thick and greasy, a tiny amount will cover the whole of your hair when you run a comb through it
I melted a can down, and added 1 table spoon of almond oil, and 1/2 teaspoon of peppermint oil. holds just as well, but it 100x easier to get into hair. also smells great. peppermint also aids hair growth
Mixing in some medium chain triglyceride fractionated coconut oil I believe would also help mix it into the hair. It's a lightweight oil that I use on the hair.
I love DAX wave and groom, my dad introduced me to it. It's one of my favourites pomades. My dad used it in the late eighties or early nineties and swears by the stuff too.
I don't find this greasy at all, it is very waxy to me. Apply it to dry hair ain't easy, but to wet/damp hair wax solidify and flakes. Am I doing something wrong?
To wash Dax out in one wash. Cup your hand and pour some olive oil in, you can be generous, rub it in to your hair thoroughly mixing it in with the Dax, it will break down the Dax quite effortlessly whilst conditioning your hair. Apply some shampoo (I use Gunk and Go) and your done. Hair silky smooth and clean. :-)
Yeah was gna say the same, try running the comb sideways through your hair and create a part, aim for putting the part where your hair naturally curves over then the Dax should hold it there for a while
Did they really change the formula for Dax wave and groom ? I remember about 2 years ago when I first tried it it was really thick and hard to get on your hair with a lot of pulling but a lot of hold but I bought a new can recently and it's a lot softer greasier/shiny easier to put on and it has a lot less hold than before. not realy impressed with it.
Does anyone know how to get it out of my head .. the store sells it but doesnt sell its own removal .. is their anyother ways .. pllllz help .. 2 days with this shit on my head
I fucking hated dax wave and groom, it's so thick and really hard to apply on my hair (I'm mexican, my hair it's really thick). The scent isn't really good neither :( I had to buy other products and now I have a full can that I don't want to use anymore :(
Now I love it hahahahha, but I still don't use it very often because taking off it's fucking hard. But it's amazing when my hair it's longer than usual
Hey harrison i have a question my hair is almost exactly like yours but its a little longer, when i style my pompadour it usually ends up falling back over to my hairs natural position which is exactly like yours. I dont know the problem, do u have any suggestions? Thx
Is your hair short still? If so, I'd just either deal with it or find a pomade with stronger hold to fight against your hair's pull. I found that after my hair started growing out a bit more, it became a bit easier to style. If it's long already, either use more product in that area or find a product with stronger hold.
Hair was too dry. DAX red needs to be applied on damped hair. Always wet your hair when you restyle the buildup from a previous day. Dax has a good hold but doesnt help with pliability.
I see all these comments that it's hard to wash out. for me it doesn't stay in for more than 4 hours. then it's gone :( how do I make it stay? do I need to grease up real bad and sleep with it or something?
I swear by this stuff. A little goes a long way. A tub of that will last me months. Pea sized amount, a bit of hairspray and bam. My hair is long as well by the way and it works wonders.
for fine thinning short to medium hair with oily scalp, should I be using Wave and Groom, or something else. I was comparing it to High and Tight Awesome Hold and Hair Shaper, I wanna know which is best for my hair type wax, paste or pomade. They also have vegetable oil pomade and Lanolin conditioner but there is not much information on how these products will hold if yo decide to use them as a styling product, So if anyone knows please help me.
+gaur well it matters on your shampoo. Shampoo and conditioning. i use treseme shampoo and conditioner, it takes it right out. if you dont have that brand, another good method is to use a water based pomade. Let the water base sit in your hair and dry out the grease. then shampoo and condition. hope it helps
Got a tin from pound land over 10 yrs ago some gooey ish man, dont know wtf it's for but can't stand it on my head rather have coconut oil than paraffin oily goo
Good video :) Hey man, I'm 26 and I've been using Dax red for about 5 years. I don't comb my hair back though because it doesn't look good on me haha. Basically I mess mine up and kinda spike it a little then comb it forward. I'm a little worried it might be encouraging my hairline to recede, though? It would suck if I had to stop using it because this is the only product that has ever truly worked for me, my hair is heavy, I've got the double crown and a cow's lick so dax is the only thing that holds it. Any thoughts from you or the viewers? I try not to use too much of it because this stuff does make hairs pull out as you rub it through, whether these are dead ones I'm not sure. My friend insists it makes you bald... But I don't know who to believe. All I know is Dax has been amazing for 5 years, I have noticed a slight thinning on the front but that could just be my age?
@@fightermma his hair wasn’t prepared at all it looked like he put it in bed head or something. Normally people apply to either blow dried or towel dried hair because it makes the product easier to work with.

You want to wet your hair all over just enough so that the product can soak in.
Inferno becoz I have already used this and is totally waste as becoz it is very greasy and feels as if u are a very sticky product and u won't be able to clean your head after applying
I'm sorry but your friend is terrible at these reviews. He repeated himself like a thousand times, and he's terrible at explaining things. I think you should stick to doing the reviews yourself, and have him do his own channel. Don't think he was cut out for the pomade life lol. I used this way back in 97. Was a great product
Still is!

First time i used was 2012 and i remember it being like superglue. I got a can recently and it seems a lot more oily and less stiff.

dish soap or olive oil. let it soak into hair for like 15 minutes then shower and use shampoo and conditioner
does this wax expires? cause i have one, didn`t use it a while cause i remove it within 2-3 washes and i don`t find any expiration date on the can :D
I have a can that says "for maximum hold, light shine" is it any different? other than that looks identical

They do have a shampoo and conditioner to take it out after since its so waxy
This is for Afro hair specifically for waves far too thick for Asian hair
