No crappy music so far. (I'm still watching) And extremely minimal slow-mo, only when it's appropriate/fitting. Dam i hate slow mo. This video is very very great. 👍 You make a great point @Doc Will.
Totally! Thanks for the sparing use of music!!! One more raging music video of the instead of letting us hear the wave and usual awesome sounds and I’ll skip.
I started to surf at 7 years.I SURFED till i was 40. THEN I HURT MY BACK.I CRYED FOR YEARS. I could not paddle out ever again. I was into to much pain,I surfed P.R at 16,EASTER VAC. RINCON, stayed for 3 weeks. 1970, the waves were 7 to 12 feet most of the time!WE hit it perfect. GOOD friday .morning the waves were 20 25 foot I went out, Sat and Sunday the surf was so big, the waves must have been 40 feet. Only one guy was riding these .monsters,he ripe it up. I must say GOD bless these .men who ride these Giant waves, and keep them safe. They have some pair of you. Know what!!!!!! GREAT. FILM!! I. Watched other films, bigger. Waves much bigger.I don't know how they live through some of the Wipeout GOD keep them all safe!!
IM from long Beach long island,we get some great surf and some nice size surf. A great place to live! Fished all my life. I caught black sea bass to tuna. The ocean has been great to .me..I MUST add this I was married. To an A angel I want the whole world to know. She passed 2018 6 7. 1030am death unknown at only 58 I CANT SAY MUCH MORE ITS TO TO Painful!!
A big round of applause to the photographers who filmed these stunning surf sequences, wow! You put yourselves in danger being this close. Thank you for the sound of silence with just the waves crashing, it was crystalline and soothing. Just film rolling and waves crashing and surfers gliding. Pure magic!
The best is Nathan Florence doing the invitational he shot at peahi and the waves were rolling in 1st set huge 2nd set were unbelievable it was like cbmd something comp his channel tho sick af
I’m just glad I got to surf this place back in the day when no one was around. We climbed down to get there with pieces of old rope, electric cords, you name it along the trail down and paddled out. Had to stick to the shoulder and take off late with a 7’ 6”” lightning bolt Rhino chaser. No vests. No spare air. Just two dudes that paddled out. Ride of your life and the beat down of your life all on one day at one spot . Glad I moved to Maui about thirty five years ago. Best decision I ever made.
I remember the first time a wave got me wrong. It plastered me on the ocean floor for what seemed like over a minute. I couldn't push off, sand and rocks slid under me like a conveyor belt, chewing my face as the wave backed off. I think it was only a 6 or 7 foot wave not this Mount Everest stuff. I can only imagine what damage these waves would do to me.
I got barreled hard by a 15 footer, shit was the scariest thing I ever experienced, and the swell just kept coming and coming, for a solid 2 minutes I was just getting pounded. I never went back out and touched a big one like that ever since. Hope I can get rid of the fear and hit them up again.
Great Video! Very cool. With the sound of the Ocean (Helicopter, jetskis,.) instead of anoying backgroundmusic. True paddle in surf instead of a fancy nancy tow in show. Very cool and most impressive. The Ocean is amazing! Greetings from Bavaria germany
hi you Bayern gruessle, ski heil , as american I lived in sw germany 4 14 years...I live in sw florida , , no surf however , come visit , stay 4 free....941 661 2667
Can't help but being envious and at same time realistic,. The preparation and experience it takes to be there, respect! Born in Peniche North of Nazaré!
I'm hyperventilating just watching. These have to be some of the biggest waves ever paddled. Just brutal and beyond heavy. Amazing everyone survived. At least I hope they did!
Mucho mahalo powerlines! And massive shakas to all the performers players movers and shakers!!! This performance is fully stoking out the crew here on the Great Lakes our water temperatures are down to the high 30s and with wind chills we're in the 20° to teens this session is keeping us warm and hyped up psyched to go out and charge you guys are all heroes in our books thank you again for an epic session in such great eye candy! Massive alohas to you all our surf Ohana!
I paddled out when I was younger on 25 foot day, and I went over the falls and I thought I was dead. The biggest I had ever done before that was like 8-10.
Awesome ! The best left's I've ever watched on film here at Mav's , I say watched because I've never been to Maverick's before , definitely on my list of places to see someday , a lil' Hawaii 5 "o" action at 4:07 I'd say here , and most of the other left's too in this shoot ! Thank Powerlines for another great , and all the great surfers out there !
Great video, I salute these bravest men in the world! Especially the ones that go backwards over the falls and laugh about it! Balls of STEEL! Only thing that spoiled this video was that DAMN HELICOPTER! The sounds of the waves were great!
Super Merci c'est la première vidéo que je vois ou l'on entende enfin le son des vagues et non un hard rock ou une musique psychédélique débile ! Thanks It's the first video with the real wave's sound and not with stupid hard rock or psychedelic music
That opening wave....It's a man of steel who can paddle up a giant wall and keep going. And hoping like hell because your heart is in your throat that you will make it.
Surfed many years on the east coast of Florida. A good day was 6 foot faces. These waves would have been watched, not surfed. Amazing the balls these guys today have.
Those waves at the 24:30 section looked like walls...I've swum "for my life" caught inside some 10 footers, and seeing one of those walls coming at you must be one of the biggest adrenaline rushes out there...
So glad I found this channel, my fat ass will probably never get to surf much less anything like this, but I love watching your channel while I practice my instruments.
I love this stuff, I see so much I would do diferently, in all the extream sports I do , I almost never see sunrise , I wear. A water helmet. And I always have activities that my fans can do when they come out. And I bet it's not as crowded in the evening . I always go for just after a rain storm . I sure would put those jet skiers to work pulling me , 3 roter cuff surgeries , and 2 a,c, joints makes me not care if I am a pureist
When the wind picks up, even just a smidge, it slows the paddler down, the drop takes longer, wave doesn't slow down, surfer is f'd. Tow-In is the answer for overall better quality surfing. Such athleticism, but need more speed when initially catching the wave.
THANK-YOU for natural sound and sparing use of slo-mo and music(!)

FINALLY, a video with no music. It’s so awesome to hear the raw power of Pe’ahi 👍👏🙌
Why is it so hard to find surfing docs/vids that just let you hear the waves?? So strange.
I could hear the waves crashing until that chopper showed up.
The symphony of the oceans is better than any soundtrack that could be composed by man. Thankyou!
Totally agree with you, except for iron maiden😂.
We could really hear the power of the ocean without those noisy helicopters.
@@hoolivier9629 'sea of madness'?

Wrong
I LOVE this: No soundtrack, just preparation, explanation of what the team is doing and raw nature sounds.

Minus the helicopter. That got old

I'll watch tow-in, but paddlin' is the purest form of modern surfing. This video is amazing.
Thank you for tuning in!
Jaws and Mavericks the best tow/paddle combo waves on earth
Tow only breaks are lesser beings (ahem Nazare)😊
I sincerely love you guys for leaving the sound of those waves in.
Killer production. Thanks! Rather watch here than regular TV.
probably one of the best surf vids of Jaws. All Natural as it should be. Like we are there. Thanks

In its purest form man... more tech doesn't make life better.. tech is only as good as the intention and use of it.
Powerlines... Guaranteed quality footage at real time.. brilliant, thanks

Wow. Big wave surfing has really improved a level in the last decade.
hanging out in the channel would be intense enough for me .
I really liked that there is no soundtrack and minimal chit chat. It is like being there boat on the boat wave after wave. Nice job.
Definitely a bucket list for me to be out there in a boat or jet ski to watch these guys do their thing one day. Great video
Powerlines always leading the charge with stellar big wave footage.

THIS IS THE BEST VIDEO OF SURFING
the waves are so hyp-nauntical, especially the wave at 31:40. I've never ridden a wave or a surf board but I've watched many hours of surfers.

I've surfed for most of my life, but I think I'd shit my shorts if I went over the falls on one of these waves.
I paddled out when I was younger on 25 foot day, and I went over the falls and I thought I was dead. The biggest I had ever done before that was like 8-10.
30:06 is that Shane Dorian taking off on the peak? Amazing.
yes, it looks like him
Ride of the day... My man Shaneoh! The Kailua Kid. I've watched it like 15 times now.
BIG WAVES, some of those waves are what nightmares are made of....NICE video. So fun to watch
Thanks for watching!
Amazing how the ocean is like glass and you got these monsters rollin in
Increible guys ! Tremendous. Good video
Thanks. Fenicio from Mar del plata. Argentina
Thank you!
Great surf footage, thank you for sharing :)
When you paddle into that wave that is serious commitment, great footage
Rad thank you 🙏
Sick raw footage. I don't even surf but appreciate this.
30:00 Damn that was close, I thought he made it but if you look close can see him going under the powerlines logo at 30:02

I’ve been mesmerized just watching wave after wave lol
wow that was about as raw as raw gets. thanks 4 post. thumbs up 4 water patrols.
my favorite is always when the clean up sets get there and the sheer dread of hoping to make it!
Yes THANK YOU for leaving the sounds to nature. Great video.
I'm going to watch such a great video. Thank you.
Watching this with a heavy heart for Maui, seems ironic so much water yet so much fire. Peace to all of us.
if you don't surf, then you don't know how much power those waves have - its like being pulled by a train
Fantastic content! nice community as well.
SUCH a sick video! How was that step off for the first wave? Mental! And the dude charging in the boogie board? 😲
Immediate subscribe. Your production quality is insane. This is TV man. ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!
love the natural beauty and the thrill of it all!
How the hell is this a " recommended for you" channel. Im scared to death of that wave.
Heh, I'm an old bodysurfer. You know, sometimes it's great to watch.

Put the vídeo without a musical background, I thought it was very good, with natural sound tô feel the power of the seas.
Could do without the chopper
Nice looking waves an great Video good no. GREAT GREAT JOB
this vid was so fun to watch.. those kids are freakin crazy man!
They lied when they said all men were created equal
@Agent Orange Sell him back the blessing!
This angle shows the breadth of the wave and the mass of water behind the lip whereas the typical framed shot mainly shows the height .
