One thing that can help is to do Hard/Insane survival mode of any map (Alchemical Labs and Foundries is the easiest imo, followed by Ramparts) to wave 25 and get a Giraffe on a Treadmill. On hard this giraffe will be +50 to all stats (+75 on insane) with at least 90 upgrades available. With a giraffe, and maybe a Aura monk you can easily do this map on insane and get tripple the XP per run
