I made a similar fake oil tank out of 5” abs. Cut a hole in middle to run solid strut through then shoved all electronics inside and added painted silver end caps. Looked great, cheap and functional
My VLX Shadow build is completely different from everyone else. I got a complete Vetter touring gear setup with a Windjammer fairing, bag's, and trunk. I fabricated brackets to mount it all to the bike. Everyone around here calls it the Shadow Wing. I was getting old and the VLX was perfect for me when I did it 12 years ago. I'm even older now so when a Velorex 562 sidecar showed up on craigslist I went and got it. I fabricated a subframe to adapt the VLX to the sidecar and got it hooked up. It ride's and drives like a sidecar motorcycle should. It will keep me riding a motorcycle for many more years.

Riding a jockey shift is definitely like learning to ride all over again. It really makes riding a fresh experience again. This video shows, it definitely doesn’t have to be a HD to be a cool chopper.

Is the main reason you guys use vls 600 is because it’s easier to make into hard tail because of rear swing arm is round tubing? My 98 shadow ace 750 has rectangular tubing.. & it’s good affordable platform too. Thanks love your channel! From Ohio!
My deepest regret was giving up on my 600 vlx build. I was soo close to finishing but the mechanic went under and dump my project off in his ex girlfriends back yard outside of Murrieta, CA. All the bins with all my after market parts and engine where filled with water...it was heart breaking
Regarding the two thumbscrews that hold that end-cap on, the guy should drill out the nut on the bottom tab, weld in the bottom screw, then you only have to remove the top screw to take the cap off.

21:15 Called a Linear Actuator. You could use one for adjustable suspension but youd have to get a pretty strong one lol

I like the 600 frame. I’ve done a 750 and I’m not the biggest fan of the two side strut look. But I do agree that 750s make great bobbers as well.

Yes it does. It doesn’t need to be that big. I actually drilled it into the cap right next to the hose.

Direct line is best as the pumps will fail and leave you stranded. But without the pump getting every last drop is a pita
