    This is one of those games you can’t forget.. so many storylines. Both former Chicago players scoring (debrincat and Kane.) Petr Mrazek a former Red wings goalie facing his former team, Chelios jersey being hung up in the rafters, list goes on

      It was the worst game in Hawks history. Chelios' jersey should never have been retired, and a stadium full of Hawks fans cheering for a Redwings player has made me so disappointed in my city and my home team that I don't think I can ever root for the Blackhawks again. Kane should be given no love. He lost his home here in Chicago. He should be hated for the rest of his life. Nothing he did with this team matters anymore, his three Cups are worthless now. And for thousands of Hawks fans to be cheering him? That's treason.

      Then you're not a Hawks fan, you're a fucking liar. True Hawks fans hate Kane. He should be despised, and given no love. This is not his home anymore. Nothing he did for the Blackhawks matters anymore. The dynasty era is meaningless now, the three Cups he won are worthless.

    I'm a lifelong Wings fan, I have hated Patrick Kane for so long because he's so damn good. But now that he's wearing the Winged Wheel and having this awesome comeback post hip resurfacing, I obviously love the guy now. This game was truly surreal to watch. From the triple lap to then 30 seconds later the Chicago crowd chanting "Detroit Sucks" (ahhh, rivalries) to the Cat goal that had absolutely no business going in, to watching Showtime himself with that OT breakaway storybook ending....I was almost in tears. Such a special sports moment.

    This one's gunna go up there with McCarty vs. Lemieux in terms of all time Red Wings lore for me for not only the OT winner but, all the storylines surrounding the game. The crazy thing is, the Wings were having an off night but you felt like SOMETHING was gunna happen eventually and when Debrincat scored it was like "...ok here we go". I never thought I'd see the day where Wings and Blackhawks fans were both cheering for a Patrick Kane goal in a Red Wings jersey at the United Center.

      Yes but, but, BUT... Without bothering to check, Kane played in the Ontario hockey league, didn't he? Ditto Debrincat... For the USNDTP, Kane was just a rental, not a kid they developed... And Debrincat kept getting snubbed by USNTDP brain-trust, or lack thereof... Either that, or being one of the last cuts for Yank's World Jr Team...This despite being near the top of OHL scoring several years running... JUST SAYING...

      1.5 years with the US development team for Kane prior to one season in the OHL, who is the only one I was referring too, nor commenting about the entire Canadian Jr vs us development models. Different kids go different ways. Kane led the way on the maturation of US development

And 'Sans Doubt' that USNTDP made a night & day difference in terms of USAHockey's subsequent success at international under18 and under20 tourneys...But... if you'll press rewind, you'll notice that I suffixed Kane's Jr history with a question mark ... Don't wanna start a cross-border war 'ici' ... Keeping it topical, don't wanna 'mess with Texas North', aka Chicago-land, Illonois sp? ;)
      ... Both literally, AND In terms of USNTDP history, seem like I'd be 'badly outgunned Yank' ... although half my clan hails from the 6 Nations and Ojibway, New Credit Reserves... So ya never know, NRA guy??? ;)

    The whole experience was so awesome to watch. Even the announcers on the Detroit broadcast got choked up a bit at the Kane tribute. And it was dope seeing Chelios' jersey retirement too. He was one of my favorite wings as a kid. I was still buzzing the next day lol

    I grew up in Chicago and watched Kane take us to the top from age 12 to 17
    I was just as excited to see him score this OT goal as I was watching the Flyers goal in 2010

      the coolest part is on the replay from behind Chicago's net you can see that as soon as DeBrincat throws the outlet, James Reimer in goal for the Wings bows his head for a second or two in prayer.

    Game was just epic. So many Chicago and Detroit storylines intersecting. As a Wings fan, I feel super fortunate to be able to watch what Kane does on the ice to a much greater extent than I've been able to before. He's so incredibly talented, smart, and driven! Good on the Hawks fans for retiring Cheli's jersey and welcoming Kaner back in style. That said, suck it Hawks!

    I'm HUGE Blackhawks fan and Bedard fan. That being said he needs to change it up more. I watched most of their games this year and id say minimum 80% of his breakaway/open in front of net shots are high glove hand. That might work at lower levels when you have the release he does but it won't against NHL goalies. Riemer was absolutely sitting on that shot waiting for it.

    • @paulwt9783
      @paulwt9783 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      yup. Kane's biggest asset as he's gone on isn't his hands or his eyes or his feet but his brain. he out thinks the goalies. Bedard will have to start thinking the game offensively and not try to get by on raw skill so much.
