    Stacking the speakers like that is actually a decent idea, since the 802 transducer layout is symmetrical. The middle four drivers radiate the full range, and the outside four drivers radiate low frequencies only - something I didn't learn until recently.

      The vertical stacks are OK, in fact when you go to say 4 stack the vertical dispersion drops significantly and you can get serious throw (>200ft) with them. However the horizontal array is a no-no, even if splayed. They should be separated by >2m to avoid LF interference

    4 line array stacks with 120 degree dispersion, cool.

    I have a different understanding of that, but yours makes way more sense. I was told the top row is highs and bottom row is lower....not lows per se.

    hi that's good set up/ how many amps u use for those 12 802???

    I would think 2 x Amcron/Crown Macrotech 2400 would do the job. Full gear: Macrotech 2400 x 2 for the fullrange 802 and a Macrotech 3600 for the 4 subs 302 Mk2

    I've found those Bose 802 do seem to honk a bit in the mid vocals, still a bit of EQ would probably fix that. I know this is just a camera recording but I have heard them in person. They sound quite good outdoors but aren't quite as good with very busy music and in echoey rooms. I've heard people say the aren't that efficient with amp power and need quite a few watts to go very loud.

      802 is good for vocals, no crossover and 8 little speakers sounding makes uniform and good dispersion for mid vocals. But we cannot ask for super bass and super hi end without woofers and without tweeters and 240w continuous with 92dBs at 1w. Bose 802 is for little outside venues and little indoor venues, alone with vocal and light music, with subwoofers in rock or similar. But dont ask for more "power" or presure levels like EAW, Nexo or similar long thru stadiums systems. Regards!!

      They could definitely get very loud and clear on brass band and horn type instruments. I don't know if there is any foam damping inside the cabs but that could be responsible for the honk-like sound quality.

      @World's Craziest Fools WCF listening to the logical song by scooter at high volume in an echoey disco when I was a kid was an unpleasant experience through a single pair of them. It was loud but very ear piercing. I have heard them outdoors playing acoustic music at show grounds and they sounded better there but seemed to resonate around the 500 to 1k range that produced strong response there. Similar sound to certain headphones I've listened to with no padding in the ear cup.
      I don't know what EQ settings were used or whether the controller was used.

    Do you still have the original woofers in your 302s. I've had mine reconed and they still sound awesome.

    • @patoyross1
      @patoyross1 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, those subwoofers are 502B, not 302s!. Like more 502b than 302 because 302 has more high crossover, more weight, and no much more low end. Regards.

      Patricio I'm afraid you're wrong. Being a 502B owner and DJing in clubs tha t have them, and these as well, they are most definitely 302B bass bins!
