I've finally managed to play it on my acoustic guitar this morning in its entirety for the first time (thanks Warren :), and I'm bewildered. It's incredibile how much genius has been put in this "musical composition", I would rather call it something different than a song.
sounds more cohesive when done this way than the "studio" version... kudos to thom for managing to always make guitar+voice sound more like a band than an actual whole band... look at 'the clock', or 'black swan' done live... good good man
Bocogro, I understand where you're coming from, as I often loose the plot at bad grammar myself, but you shouldn't let it bother you so. Loosing the plot like that sir isn't good for your blood pressure. (Fun intended, not trolling)
Genius, haunting, brilliant, beautiful, awesome... Just wow.

I get a Nick Drake vibe from the guitar in this. One of Thom's best.
he is so brilliant, beautiful, and unique i love the way he plays the guitar
Amazing how perfect transition into acoustic that was!
Huh, didn't know a solo version of this even existed until just now. Worth staying up til 5 in the morning just for that.
bloody love how dark this is...i love this band too..i havent heard a bad track yet...
that's just... oh, amazing
I love the attendance, there really quiet and listening to Thom :-)
I was there and it really was like everyone in the room was hypnotised!
Why does Thom's music sound really good raw?
that's a fucking beautiful guitar composition
Genius is the only appropriate word.
i am supposed to be watching the v.p. debate but this seems to get the message across quite well
that man is displaying some authority on that guitar...
this version is just as hypnotic as the full band.
Amen
@Conacostock With Thom there always a "solo version" of everything lol

This song sounds a lot like something Nick Drake would have written.

Chill out, mate. No need to get all rallied up. Anonymity doesn't justify harassment. Thom's a brilliant musician, let's all just agree on that.
sounds better than the original. those drums were cool, but i like the tune better without them.
looks like a guitar
no disrespect but he does ome across a bit syd barret at times but more together!!
