In this edition of Tarikh, Sonal talks about History of Rashtrapati Bhawan. Rashtrapati Bhavan is the official residence of the President of India. Originally built as the Viceroy's House during British colonial rule, it was designed by Edwin Lutyens, a renowned architect. After India's independence, the building was renamed Government House and later Rashtrapati Bhavan. It has witnessed significant historical events, including the transfer of power from British to Indian hands.
