    What is the youngest (psychologically and therefore practically, rather than legally) age at which a person becomes recruitable. Children make potentially formidable spies for many reasons, not least of which is the lack of expectation among adults whose great (parental) naïveté is to underestimate, not only, child intelligence but also the mental and emotional sophistication of some children. What or who are the best historical precedents, and do governments around the world, including our own U.S. Government, pursue this line of inquiry?

    I have seen the change in motivation trends as you noted. Money is still there, but ideology is more difficult to identify.

    You can view the declassified daily presidential briefs too. I looked back at the Cuban missile crisis dates. A part of it is still redacted but it's still interesting to see what the president was being briefed on and what they knew or didn't know that we know now
