    Actually I like the Heimdallr bezel because of the raised pip and the non lum bezel. I feel its more in keeping with the original vintage style.

    Heimdallr sent me a junk 6105 which was sent with damage to the front of the lugs and also has an ultra stiff bezel which now has a lume pip that has come out . Steeldive all the way, better finishing ,accuracy and a better price.

    Excellent comparison bro!...I bought both heimdaler black dial with waffle strap and Steeldive blue dial with bracelets sterile no logo for comparison purpose ,too. Its also due to the value of money rather than buying 1 spb151 willard of usd1200 but I had 2 similar watches for less than usd300! A no brainer indeed! Hahaha..i have modded my heimdaler with seiko 6105 willard dials...so happy...highly recommended purchase!

    I enjoyed your review but of course I drew entirely different conclusions and prefer the Heimdallr. One place we agree entirely is the strap vs. bracelet question. Even on the best possible bracelet the watch just looks "right" on a strap.

    The reflected minute markers are such an important part of the 6105 look. Neither of them gets this right (even Seiko got this wrong on the otherwise gorgeous SLA033) but the Steeldive gets it more right here.

    That was a great comparison. I spent ages muself trying to decide which one to get, and went for the Heimdallr simply because I preferred the gloss dial. I put off buying it for a while, until I learned that for a couple of days in March, Heimdallr had their 6105 on sale for an astonishingly low $109, and it said they had only 2 in stock, so I grabbed one immediately. When Steeldive improved their bracelets, to get rid of poor milling on the first link, they switched to a male end link. They’ve since reverted back to the female end links. Not sure if the poor milling followed them back, though!

    Nice review as always. I wish there was a comparison on the lume based on longevity. A burst of brightness at the start does not necessarily mean it is better. For me I need at least 6 hours of legibility of the hour and minute hands and the pip. I will not spend money on anything less. Some people may need up to 8 hours. I guess it may be too much to ask for some low cost watches but that is exactly the kind of info that the consumers want.

One more thing is that when it comes to the 2 watches though The Heimdallr is guilty on the full rotation with regard to The Bezel but The Bezel is much TIGHTER & NO BACKPLAY one must say. I have both and both have their plusses and minuses as you mention in its own right but I feel The Heimdallr comes on strong in SHAPE very much similar to my ORIGINAL SEIKO 6105-8119. It is all to do with THE LENGTH OF THE CROWN & THE LOWER BODY EDGES THAT ARE MUCH CURVISH if you observe

      Ooooohhh, it arrived, I love it. I go with the idea of homage not copy so.... I have a Tactical Frog FX Diver Tudor Pelagos homage - went for the green so it screams NOT Tudor, but love the design aesthetics of the Pelagos FXD (and it's a frog!!) . With the Steeldive SD1980 I've gone for the blue rather than the original black, so it screams NOT Seiko, but got the aesthetics of the original. I love the Tudor blue and this is the closest I've got to it AND it's got a Seiko movement so Seiko obviously approve ;) - Also wearing it with an copy of the chocolate bar strap worn by Martin Sheen in Apocalypse Now from Uncle Seiko - feels / looks good😁👍

    the heimdallr has a case more true to the original EXCEPT for 1 tiny detail: they have not cnc'd out the 2mm round shape around the crown tunnel . So sharkeys are best for modding into original look. They even have a high beat version wither ETA/Seagull and those come with a lock 'n arrow (counter clock wise) screw down crown. Stuff to improve: Use a seiko style click spring and raise the bezel a bit and let us SEE the grooves for the click spring from the side. Also keep the slots on the coin edge more in accordance with the 6105. Give us a bezel insert as seen on rdunae rectangula.

    The dial in the Steeldive is closer to the flat appearance of the original 6105, and the bevelled edges of the hands on the Heimdallr closer to the 6105. The case shape on both still isn't identical to the 6105 - I wish they would address that!

  • @Area_man115
    @Area_man115 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

    I had the Addiesdive, the Steeldive, and the Heimdallr physically side by side. The Heimdallr is superior in the following respects:
    1: Only the Heimdallr lacked lume on the bezel. Yes that’s a positive for Heimdallr, because the Seiko of 1969 lacked bezel lume, too.
    2: The printing on the Heimdallr bezel was noticeably more precise than that of the others.
    3: The case shape around the crowns of the Steeldive and Addiesdive were more restrictive to one’s fingers, making operation of the crown more difficult. The case contour of the Heimdallr was the same as the Seiko.
    These three factors disqualify the Addiesdive and the Steeldive, and elevate the Heimdallr as the only choice among the three.

  • @maxhamilton8204
    @maxhamilton8204 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The Heimdallr's Pepsi bezel insert is definitely aluminum. I prefer male end links personally, I don't think it matters if it is a male or female when it comes to wear the watch. The plus flexibility is no need for most of the people. Maybe with spaghetti wrists it matters but I am not sure even those people need a female and link to wear the watch properly.

    • @gilbertoflores7397
      @gilbertoflores7397 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      At this point, "why doesn't it have female end links" is the new, "if only it was 36-38mm". They just want to look for flaws and have little baby wrist. The watcher also has smaller wrist, and he wears most of these watches that are 40+mm just fine.

    • @TheWatcherReviews
      @TheWatcherReviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It would have been better to call the Steeldive its right name, i.e. SD1970, avoiding confusion between these two clones.

    I prefer the Heimdallr because the bezel is slimmer.

    I bought a Heimdallr 6105 two months ago. I got a piece of shit with misprinted and crocked dial! Since than, only problems to get in touch with Heimdallr or get an answer or get this piece of shit send back! I’m done with Heimdallr!

    Steeldive Hiemdllr and Addiesdive are from the same factory as Chinese made Seiko parts. 😂
    I'm just talking shit. I don't know for a fact which chinese factory makes what.

      I agree steeldive and addiesdive share common parts and their previous models were just dial renames. Maybe not from the factory that makes parts for seiko for deffo a common supplier

    I got the Heimdall for 145euro incl shipping.
    Still a great deal for an automatic diver with sapphire/ceramic and NH35 movement.
    I think the Heimdallr wins and I dont care about the score..
    Heimdallr wins because:
    Dial is more blackish
    Clasp is NOT stamped(thats very important)
    Minute and hour hands are BRUSHED and not that cheap shing hands like the Steeldive
    Better lume (not a christmas watch with all those colors on Steeldive)
    Better case finishing (edges more sharper and more fined details)
    Better/thicker lugpins
    Sapphire is lower and is not sticking out like the Steeldive
    Less play in the bezel!!!
    And thats why its worth 145euros! Yes Steeldive is much cheaper, but common 145euros is not that high at all for so much watch.
    There is no watch for 145euros with this much quality.
    Heimdallr all the way.
    IF the Steeldive was for an example 5000euros and the Heimdallr 10.000euros, then yeah ok the Steeldive wins...
    But 75euros or 145euros.... the difference is pocketmoney LOL... What is 70euros..... With 4 people to Macdonalds is 70euros 🤣🤣

    I think Steeldive is giving you a kickback for this...previous " Unbiased" reviews pointed out Heimdaller to be the all round better option.
    I Think you are becoming ..Corrupt mate.

    • @TheWatcherReviews
      @TheWatcherReviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Lmao yeh right. This ultimately comes down to VALUE for money. SD is the better VALUE for money option.
      Steeldive doesn't give me anything as it doesn't matter to me which one is better. Its for you guys.
      I would prefer the heimdallr myself but doesn't change the fact
