Because of delays of the Iroquois, this wasn't going to easily happen. Secondly, nobody was told exactly what weapons system was to be expected leading to additional delays and confusion. By the end of the project even some initially very supportive members of parliament were concerned with the overall cost of the project. Even had we completed production models with advanced engine and fire control systems, with no foreign sales on the books, there is no way Canada could have maintained the program. Cost estimates had spiraled from something like $1M in very early days to $10M+ per copy. In 1959 that was an astronomical sum. I am as patriotic as the next guy about what might have been, but there were too many external pressures on this program to ever get to the finish line.
@@MicrophonicFool Still say bad decision to cancel the Arrow - even the Jet Liner should have been mass produced and sold all over the World > the Sales dept. should have gone all out on this from Earlier of each project
This is not about then, its about now, what better way to create the deadliest plane ever, and to provide 100,000 or more jobs, its our money, not those mf politically correct bastards.
freddy I would be interested in knowing where you sourced this video from. I have a friend who has a VCR tape and says its the only surviving real video recorded footage of the C-102. Part 1 and 2 footage is identical to the one he showed me via a VCR tape. You know anything more on this. You can text me @ 705 209 0433 and I will give you an e-mail address if you are interested in following this up. Just use Freddy so I know what its all about if you text me.
Canada never passes up an opportunity to shoot itself in the foot😢
It must have gutted mr floyd when it happened for a second time 😢
Should have got the Arrow into full production before Dief could nix it

@@1Bandit455 Yes, it was a shame all around. The Jet liner probably had as much of a chance at that point as the Arrow did, if not more
Once again shot ourselves in the foot so typical and sad as well
Polliverre will be diefenbaker 2.0
