yes, absolutely viable. for the sole reason of hard cc. like Will Brown said, it's a vital team weapon for those close quarter engagements where there are lots of choke points to defend. One Down spawns a lot of enemies, and since they have crazy high amounts of health no matter what setup you bring you won't be killing them very fast (unless you have an entire team of bow users, which is pretty boring and dull) so enemies tend to pile up fast. not only that, but things like shields tend to spawn in large groups and they can completely fuck up your day if they block hallways. flamethrower is great for the crowd control in the sense that it more often than not stuns enemies by putting them on fire which forces them to do the flame dance. the flamethrower was changed so it does less damage but has more dot damage and a longer dot duration, so while it's really bad for killing anything it's extremely powerful as an area of denial tool where weak cops have a hard time getting through and even specials are unable to use their special ability while being flamed. it's great for crowds since the fire pretty my ignores body blocking so in any given area enemies will be flamed and things like specials hiding in the back won't be able to sit safe either. and even if the flamethrower is weak the continual damage weakens enemies a lot making them much easier to kill for the rest of the team so viable? yes, absolutely. But not in the way most people hope it would be. for a lot of one down louds we've had a person bring a flamethrower for the team
I had the idea for a perk deck that would give u a dart gun as a throwable that lets u convert any enemy type. I’d have it kill the converted after a certain time and one at a time. Maybe have the ability to use the dart gun to target enemies too. Like after you convert a cloaker u can use the dart gun to make it kick whatever u hit

Cqcrtdoesgaming the whole point of the game is to make money. If there is a safe full of money or a warehouse full of loot the payday gang will be their to steal it No matter how ludicrous it may be. They blew up a train bridge To steal a bomb for christ sake. They even went across the country to a disaster zone to rob armored trucks.

I just didn't see a safe or anything, I know it's called panic room but that made me think of Hoxton revenge. And often they are made to do heists like with the Dentist and if they didn't do some of the heists then they'd lose good contractors. Vlad uses them as muscle rather than making money.
They did have a lot more health in PD:TH, though. Plus we had less powerful weapons. And let's not forget that we have one armor type and one form of health restoration.
Does Payday2 still have severe De-sync? Just wondering cause I stopped playing when I hit around 800hours because the de-sync just suuuuucked. Especially when you prefer the stealth side of this game.

you should play as Jimmy you know trying different characters like be one character for a month then change up or if you already like your default character
