I have the same problem with YN685 except that the problems occurred after two intense photo shoots. Once the flash strobes, the second time does not flash at all, the flashes are sometimes too strong, sometimes too weak in relation to the settings. I plan to bring a flash to my local photo service to see if something can be repaired there, instead of sending it to the manufacturer in China. About Yongnuo I also have two flashes YN560IV and YN560TX Controller that I use for over a year now without any problems.
i have exactly the same problem. I am afraid a flash that only works every 2 minutes is as good as one that never works. my 560IV and III still work after a lot of shooting.
Just bought two brand new YN600 EX II flashes Yongnuo. Flash would suddenly stop working on me even though the link was green and power was good. I tried taking if off the hotshoe and re-attaching, then it worked again. It seems so far anyway, that for some reason, the contact isn't good between flash and hotshoe, even though i used the lock on it. Wonder if it's possible that their is some factory "film" over the metal. I'll clean it anyway to be sure. From now on, I'll make sure it's TOTALLY locked well and snug as can be. Just seems to be very sensitive to contacts.
Mine doesnt work! The blue light wont go away, even though the batteries are fully charge or the flash is off. Its just shuts down for no reason. But before its shuts down there are letters that pops up on the lsd like P.L and a battery sign. I’ve been trying to fix it but still it doesnt work. Help please 😔
that is a bummer. not had that happen to me. as an update, after 3 months in the repair centre, I've not had it returned. so I had to insist that something be done about it as the timescale was bordering on unacceptable. the only resolution was to have a new flash sent to me instead, but I would have to pay a small charge plus postage equalling £23.
I have one other video already up showing my workaround using the yn685 and YN568EXII speedlites with the YN622C-TX controller. maybe there's something there that'd help? if not let me know and I can put out something else too thanks
Was thinking of buying the 685 but slightly put off now by the negative comments. In your opinion which is the best to go for, the 685 or 568ex ii? By the way liked your video on both models
Hi, thanks for the comment. Sorry for the slow response. For me, the main thing about the 685 is the clearer LCD screen, and quick lock hotshoe mount. Other than that, I think the 568 exii is just as capable.
hi Alex. Yes, unfortunately I needed a quicker resolution than what was happening so the retailer offered me an exchange for a new replacement at the cost of delivery charges. So what happened with the broken flash, I have no idea I'm afraid. thanks for watching
mine worked great for three shoots. then in the middle of a shoot, it stopped working. Luckily I had another speed light I could use...but since I was using two speed lights for the shoot, cutting back to one, was a little unnerving. IT it is a bulb issue, any one know the cost to get it fixed?
Darque Room, I contacted & purchased the flashtube assy for $65.00. It includes the flashtube and housing. They said best to get the complete housing. And my daughter fixed under guide line of ATG. Not bad when you got a professional walking those steps with you. Are you sure it's just the flashtube is bad? And your Fresnel Lens is not defective? If the lens are defective, then you need three items. Contact Alzo Digital, CT. And ask for the service/repair/help supports.
I contacted Alzo Digital, CT and told them three of my Canon 600EX-RT did not flash. They were just over 1 year, meaning out of warranty. And Canon wants to rape me on the repair. So Alzo Digital informed about about ATG. All flashtubes were defective.
this has happened with mine too, full charge but not firing, there is no service center get it fixed,Just unreliable united they may go off any time so while buying be careful. you may be lucky or just bad luck comes alone the unites.
for value for money, yes I would highly recommend it. I currently own 3 of the YN685 speedlites and 3 of the YN568EXII speedlites and they all perform admirably for me. this video shows that there are some quality control issues, so I'd recommend testing yours fully as soon as you get it.

Same here. It just flashes randomly, like 1 out of 10 presses. Sadly i only used it for like 1-2k shutters.

Ajit Deb Photography so what was the problem? Mine isn't working, she issue as yours. And I'm afraid I cannot return it, as it was imported.
It has been sent for warranty repair. I was told it could take anything from 4-6 weeks so am still waiting.
Ajit Deb Photography did they fix it? have same problem here :(
We have the same problem with Canon 600EX II-RT & Nikon SB5000.
Not going to send them in.
thanks. i have the same set up coming in the mail this week. do you have more tutorials on the yn685 w 622c-tx?

R your batteries fully charged if yes try replace batteries from working unit just switch them can be battery problem
definitely not a battery problem. the unit has now been replaced by a new one, so the bulb was faulty.
My LCD backlight wasn't working. super bummer.
Cuando uso el controlador solo toma unas pocas y no dispara mas
