Question, I see alot of videos lately from various youtubers re superyachts docking in Gibraltar. Is that for a specific reason they do that in March? Like are they registered in Gibraltar?
Yachts call all year round in Gibraltar, in the February March April months you get the yachts returning from the Caribbean and entering the Mediterranean and in the September, October, November you get them going out of the Mediterranean, as Gibraltar is strategically located in the entrance and exit of the Mediterranean they come here for duty free fuel, yachts also come here to claim back the VAT spent in Europe as Gibraltar is the closest trustworthy location outside the EU where they can obtain a letter saying they have exited the EU which allows them to claim back the VAT spent in Europe, we are very lucky to get all the major Superyachts visit us which gives us yacht spotters great opportunities to get really good footage of yachts
