As someone that has a company in Clarksburg and ships into the US constantly I cannot wait for this amazing bridge to be completed! So excited to have a nice modern bridge named after one of Canadas own Gordie Howe and being such an important part of our relationship with our biggest trade partner the US is such an amazing feat during our lifetime.
If anyone can appreciate the opening of the Gordie Howe Bridge, Erik, you'd be it. Time is money in your business and the new infrastructure should make a positive differance in both. Glad to have you watching. Thanks for the insightful post.
We can't wait for this beauty to be done!!!!! Gordie Howe, a legend!!!! Just watching it being put together is fascinating!!! From The Motor City!!!! There should be a party from Detroit to Windsor!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉....
I haven't followed hockey since I was a kid and Gordie Howe was the man. I have since researched his bio and he was an incredible person outside of the rink as well. It is wild seeing this project come into reality. If there is a party on the opening be sure to invite me!!
Aside from the main span whose progress is obvious and most visible, really good to see so much falsework and even rebar going in for the deck pours on the approaches to the main span.
Hi. There is a lot of work going on around the site. The rebar in the road deck is incredible. It would be interesting to know how many layers of rebar are installed before the finish surfaces are layed. Cool post! Thanks.
Hi @dingodog7566. You are more than welcome, and thank you very much for the compliment. I hope I can catch the meeting in the middle when it happens. Keep your fingers crossed. :)
Hi Gaven. That's great timing. Actually I'm working on ADM and Port Windsor. I'd love to learn about the company from an employees point of view. I got footage with the drone a few weeks ago. ADM is a big deal from what I've researched. Maybe we can chat.
Dear Bob - Please tell us about when the middle section that connects the two protruding sides will be completed, and how they will do that. Many of your viewers would like to know. A while ago one commenter said they will probably use river barges to lift up the connecting sections into the center of the bridge, but no one has confirmed that theory. Since yours is the only channel that provides information, and the others just fly over the bridge with cameras and play music, we are counting on you to answer these questions. Good work! 👍
Hi Gilbert. I'll see what I can find out about the final peice and how they install it. I believe they will still use the cranes they are using to get there. In past research I remember something about the last peice being a special section allowing them to make adjustments to fit just right. But I will see what I can learn before it happens. Thank you for the kind feedback. I appreciate it.
It may only be a few months until the two deckheads meet. They are close enough that one can throw a baseball, or shoot a slapshot, from one deckhead to the other. I really hope that Michigan chooses to designate the approach ramps from this bridge to I-75 as "Highway M-401", as a reminder of what it links to in Canada.
Hi @user-de5nu9wx4m. I've been asked that question a number of times and I can't say, cause I don't know:) It is getting close, maybe three hunderd feet or so would be my guess, but don't quote me on that. Thanks for the question. If I figure it out I will let you know in the community comments.
Hi @gdlkfanseth4197. Good question. It is a special construction stryrofoam used to replace infill instead of dirt fill. It apparently is cheaper and better for the job. I'll see if I can find a better description for you. Thanks for asking!!
Lol. Hi @Ayr04! That is so cool. You will be recorded in history as one of the professional workers that helped make the Gordie Howe Bridge a reality. Something to show your Grandkids! :) Thanks for sharing.
Hi budway1942. My pleasure. Yeah, it seems like a long time, but it is a large project when the project as a whole is considered. Creating the infrastructure to connect highways in Michigan, the buildings and processing structures in both Plazas, and likely thick with government bureaucracy on both sides of the border, I can see it. That said, it'll get there. Thanks for the post.
Hi Scott. There is certainly enough taxpayers money being thrown around like there is no tomorrow. The bridge, however, is a much needed infrastructure in my humble opinion. It will save truckers and trucker firms money from the start. It will clear the congestion on Huron Church Road and get the tuucking pollution out of the city. Some of it anyway. :) As for being told the truth . . .I gotta agree with you there. With everything and anything being thrown at us it can be hard to know who is teling the truth. We'll never know what they are really thinking on top of the ladder. I figure I gotta learn what I can about any issue that concerns or interests me, and make a decision on my core beliefs. Man, you got me rambling. Thanks for the post.
@@bobjonesrealtor7756 infrastructure is needed...sleep too long and the overhead will skyrocket..especially when privately owned....if it wasn't for govt it be built already...
Hi Bob. That's right. Not only that, they had to remove and replace a good numbers of cables they had already installed as they were inferior to the cables they finally used. The contractors were given the tolls collected as a bouns until the date the bridge was contracted to be completed if I remember right. Yup, those were the days! Thanks for the insight into the Ambassador. It has quite a colourful history.

Hi, Thank you. Glad you liked it!
Amazing
Hi Timothy. Thanks. I couldn't agree more. :)
Beautiful, can't wait to see the joining . Thank you for sharing and Angel Blessings to All that is involved.....
Hi Robert. You are so welcome. I agree, the joining will be very cool to watch. Thanks for the comment.
Proud to say we did all the fabrication of those girders..💪💪💪
Hi. That is so cool. Where were they made? That's a huge contract. It must be interesting to see them on the job site after working on making them. :)
Look forward to your updates Bob. Nice videography on your part. I hope you get to capture the joining of the decks in the middle of the river !!
Thank you, Gerald. I appreciate the knid words. I'm hoping , too. :)
Great flying, even better photos !
Hi Peter. Thanks for the encouragement. I appreciate it. :)

Bob King of the drone. Keep Going
Hi Thomas. That's the plan, God willing. Thanks for being here from the start!
Thanks sooo much for that. So interesting and extremely well done. Look forward to further updates and especially the meeting in the middle.

Bob, you should do a neighbour video of ADM. I work there as a millwright and its a interesting place and company

Hi. I couldn't have said it better. :) Thanks for the comment.
The bridge must connect Canada to USA
That's right. Detroit Michigan in the USA, to Windsor Ontario in Canada.
Can we make the Fall 2025 deadline?? Still a construction site.

They should throw a big party for the final connection of the two sides.
Hi powershop. Seems a lot of people are wanting to party!! I can't think of a better reason. :) Thanks for the post.

Hi @denelson83. Highway M-401 would be appropirate for direction, and ut sounds cool, too! Thanks for the post :)
how big is the current gap between the two decks

What is all the Styrofoam for under the taper to the bridge ?

This crossing is very much needed. The Ambassador Bridge is scary, it is nearing 100 years old
