Yes but they got relegated that season and never came back and they are always mid table in championship or at the bottom and hadnt challenged the playoffs at all...
That's what can happen when you lose such a good squad and the funding that's more in the premiership. Look at teams like Leeds etc. The championship reads like a past premiership table. No one club has any rights to stay in the premiership or to get back in. The championship is a tough division.
It's sad when clubs as small as fulham are getting more tv coverage than many bigger championship clubs the london bias is sad.
My club birmingham will always be bigger than the like of fulham qpr or brentford

Watching this again, almost 4 years later, it still hasn't truly sunk in that I watched my team win a cup final at Wembley. I can say I was there, I can say I watched us beat one of the best teams in English football...but it still seems so surreal for me.

I’m QPR I can’t imagine what it must be like to see your team win a trophy at Wembley. Your lot are a proper club. I remember going to watch the rangers at the Hawthorne’s this was January of 83. On my way home I had to pass through New Street Station to get the train back to London. About 400 zulus came through the station that day shouting “Zulus, zulus”. I had heard about your firm, but seeing them that day was impressive, lads of all races with shaven heads...

I was so happy to see Birmingham win this final, but disappointed when they went down in the same season. They've had some great seasons in the top flight and I always believe the Second City derby should be a Premier League derby. I'm always holding out hope as a neutral to see Birmingham City back in the Premier League.

this is always going to be speacle game as it was the last time my grandad will ever see that we won the cup he died this year im glad he got to see us win a cup. and i can rember what i was doing me, dad and brother where in the lounge wacthing the finle. i was siting by the fire place with my dad next to me and my borther on the other sofa. when we sroced the frist goal i was excited. when the equliser came i thought oh no we wil lose this. as it got to the 85th min i said this will go to ET and just after i sead that i see martines putting the ball in the back of the net my dad went mental i went meantle and my birther went mental. after the goal i was like blow the wheesl ref. when it did go i was running round the lounge and got out of breath. al so this was the frist season i stared to like football. i will never never going to forget this for as long as i live.
