This was our best chance before 2014 to win a trophy. I was heartbroken that we couldn't win such a simple trophy, even more pissed at THAT error. I was absolutely GUTTED that day, I remember I was at a funeral somewhere in Essex and i felt guilty that the final was on my mind, I rushed to my granddad's house which is next to Upton Park and West Ham were playing Liverpool that same day, so there was so much traffic because of the Scousers coaches driving back up to Liverpool so I missed the start of the game, soon as I ran into the house I saw Zigic score, then RVP scored and thought yep confident we'll turn this mob over. Last minute of the game it looked like it was going ET so went for a loo break, suddenly heard screaming downstairs, got out and saw my uncle climbing up the stairs and gave me that look, that moment then my heart sank to the floor. Devastated. Even though we won the Cup since, that day will still haunt me forever. We got stick from all corners after that: media, pundits, opposition fans, friends, family etc. I didn't wanna even go to school the next day (I live in Tottenham). Promised myself I wouldn't watch this back until we win a trophy again but yh this was painful for all Arsenal fans at the time because we HAD to end the drought :(

Yes, a miserable day for Arsenal fans. However, a wonderful day for long suffering Birmingham City fans. I have been a Birmingham City fan since 1967 so I have had far more heartbreaking moments and disappointments than Arsenal fans.
